A lot of us were freaking out when we first saw the trailer for Compliance. It was so intense, and so dark, and the fact that it was based on a true story made it even more difficult to watch. A young woman who works in a fast-food restaurant is subjected to appalling, horrific treatment by her co-workers and manager when she is accused of stealing by a prank caller, acting as a policeman. The movie proved to be as good– and as disturbing– as I thought it would be. And, like many great movies, it was a really fantastic portrait of the human psyche.
