Ne-Yo’s Former Babymama Is Threatening Legal Action Over His VH1 ‘Behind The Music’ Special

Okay, so… I’m not a ginormous Ne-Yo fan, but this story is really interesting. If you caught Ne-Yo’s recent VH1 Behind The Music special, the singer/songwriter spent a good deal of time talking about a very difficult situation he had to deal with a few years back. His girlfriend at the time, Jesseca White, had given birth to the couple’s first child and everything was all good, Ne-Yo loved his son like cray, all that good stuff. Except… all that good stuff was basically a lie because Ne-Yo eventually found out that HE WAS NOT THE FATHER. Yikes! But wait! There’s more! Somehow, Jesseca ends up convincing Ne-Yo to give her over $500,000 to move out and get her ish together; but he still wanted a relationship with the child he was raising as his own. Jesseca takes the money and RUNS, never to be heard from again by Ne-Yo, who was especially heartbroken over the loss of the child he considered to be his son. And now Jesseca has come back into the picture to threaten Ne-Yo with legal action, because he apparently was never supposed to share any of this with the public. I didn’t even know you could have an ex-babymama, let alone ex-babymama drama! That ish craaaayyyy! Deets inside!

TMZ has the story:

Ne-Yo’s former baby mama (we’ll explain) is FUMING after the singer went on VH1 and blabbed about their baby drama — and now she’s hired mega attorney Gloria Allred to make him pay.

It’s a pretty complicated story … Ne-Yo used to have a relationship with a woman named Jesseca White. During their time together, Jesseca had a baby which Ne-Yo thought was his … turns out, it wasn’t.

The couple reached a settlement agreement in 2009 in which Ne-Yo coughed up $575,000 to Jesseca, who in turn officially said the kid wasn’t his. Ne-Yo was originally listed on the birth certificate as the father, but his name was later removed.

As part of the deal, both sides agreed to a confidentiality clause, promising to never go public with the info. Fast forward to September 2012 … Ne-Yo did an interview with VH1’s “Behind the Music” and spilled the beans on the whole sordid ordeal.

Now, Gloria Allred has fired off a letter to Ne-Yo accusing him of breaking the agreement. Allred claims that because Ne-Yo falsely painted Jesseca as a harlot who lied, broke his heart and then vanished … Jesseca has been defamed, ridiculed and harassed.

According to the letter, Jesseca has been unable to work, was forced to file for state aid, suffers from mental anguish and is “beset by nausea, vomiting and hair loss” thanks to Ne-Yo’s remarks.

Jesseca is asking Ne-Yo to settle the matter amicably out of court (cough, cough $$$$) … otherwise she’ll be forced to pursue more serious legal options.

We reached out to Ne-Yo’s rep — so far, no word back.

Craaazzzyyy, right? Now the truth is, I saw the special, and Ne-Yo didn’t disrespect Jesseca or anything like that, but he definitely came off looking really heartbroken… and yeah. Jesseca sounded like a total bitch, lol. Mainly for the part where she had him thinking that the baby was his, biologically! I mean, I know people do that sometimes.. but c’mon! Who does that?!

Anyway, I’m sure that $575,000 went pretty quickly and now she’s back for more. Call me cray-cray, but I just don’t see how the 7-9 minutes Ne-Yo spent talking about her on VH1 has caused mental anguish, nausea, vomiting, and hair loss. Actually. Sounds like Jesseca might be prego again, lmao!

Okay, okay. That’s enough y’all. We don’t know the whole story, so maybe there’s more to it. What do y’all think? Team Ne-Yo (I can’t believe I’m Team Ne-Yo y’all, I really don’t like him sometimes, lol) or Team Jesseca?

From what I’ve learned on this story (which is only what I’ve read here!) I think that Ne-Yo said the truth. I don’t understand how he “falsely” said anything about her. I’d be pissed as hell if I was him and I found out that the child wasn’t mine and yet I still had to pay her a chunk of cash AND keep quiet about it? Aw hell naw!

    • Shannon

Kiki, I hear you. But if they DID sign a document agreeing to NEVER speak of this madness (lol) then Ne-Yo did actually violate the agreement. I think the whole thing is ridiculous.

Team Ne-Yo. This is freakin cuckoo bananas. How could she dupe him like that and expect him to say anything about it?! Why he would sign that agreement is beyond me.

And Shannon, how could you not like Ne-Yo? He praises womanhood, honestly. Sample his Year of the Gentleman album. Swear.

She needs to sit down, I saw that episode and I believe Ne-Yo as well. I was like you Shannon when I saw Behind the Music- I liked a couple of his songs and stuff but didn’t see as much more than a wannabe Michael but that episode changed my mind.
I agree with Kiki- it’s one thing to pay the money and not see the child he treated as his own but it’s another thing for him not to speak his piece. He didn’t even say she was a witch- that’s just how the story played out.
Gloria Allred needs to stop this madness as well.

We may never know the real story…but seriously? The fact that Ne-Yo still wanted to be that child’s father and she “banned”, “ran away”, “disappeared”, whatever it was that he didn’t have contact with that child…doesn’t look right. A lot of fathers don’t want to participate in a child’s life, so the fact a man wanted to stand in as one is very sweet.

Again, no one knows the real story as there is a his truth, her truth, and the real truth. I just hope that child is being taking care of properly.

She is out of her mind. She’s just money hungry. He should take her to court, because there’s no way she would win and she wouldn’t have the resources to continue the fight. She’s in the wrong in every instance. I’m disgusted that a woman would do any of that.
