Back in September we learned that lovebirds Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively got themselves hitched in a private ceremony that took place in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and, as you may recall, not a single photo from the couple’s nuptials came to light. Today, courtesy of Martha Stewart Weddings, we finally get to see photos from the Reynolds-Lively wedding day … but before y’all get all excited, you should know that the photos only really show decorations and food from the ceremony and reception. There is one photo of the couple tho, so, click below to take a look.
When Ryan and Blake secretly got engaged last June, they knew it would take careful planning, confidentiality, and a select crew to pull off their nuptials before word got out. Enter Martha Stewart. We quickly discovered that Ryan and Blake are not like the many altar-bound celebrities who sell their big-day photos to the highest bidder. This public, yet very private, couple’s sole wish was to have an intimate affair (there were only 35 guests total). And while they remain protective of images of them on their most heartfelt occasion, they graciously let us share pictures of the elements we created together. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are no strangers to a sea of cameras aimed at them. But when they decided to marry, they wanted to celebrate in privacy—and in style. And while they remain protective of images of them on their most heartfelt occasion, they graciously let us share pictures of the elements we created together.
So, all these months later, we get to see the wedding cake, some desserts, Blake’s bouquet and a photo of their hands. Honestly, it’s more than I ever thought we’d get to see so … at least it’s something. I can’t say I blame the couple for protecting their privacy so fiercely. From the start, they’ve done everything they can to make it as difficult for outsiders to play any part in their relationship. That they decided to allow Martha Stewart Weddings to publish these photos is nothing short of a miracle (tho, it’s very likely they got all of this design help for free in exchange for the right to publish these photos). It looks like it was a very classy affair. I’m not too fond of old timey weddings but when done right, they can be really lovely. Maybe we’ll get to see a proper wedding photo of Ryan and Blake some day but I’m not really holding my breath.
