Claire Danes Gives Birth To A Baby Boy

Congratulations are in order for Claire Danes and her husband Hugh Dancy because today we learn that the couple are the proud parents of a newborn baby boy born here in LA this week. Cyrus Michael Christopher was born into the world this past Monday and altho the statement released by the couple doesn’t expressly say so, I’m assuming that mother and child are doing just fine. Click below to learn the official deets about Cyrus’s birth and let’s celebrate the birth of baby Danes-Dancy!

It will be a very happy holiday for Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy! The Homeland star, 33, and her actor husband welcomed their first child, son Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy, on Monday, Dec. 17, her rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively. Since confirming her pregnancy in July, Danes has stayed mostly mum on the subject of baby — including keeping the sex a secret — but tells PEOPLE in its new year-end double issue that she looks forward to “getting to know our new Dancy” over the break. Danes … wed Dancy, 37, in a private ceremony in France in 2009.

Awwww, what great news for Claire and Hugh. When we saw photos of Claire and her baby bump out and about in NYC last week, I didn’t think that she looked quite ready to pop … how wrong was I? Let’s send all of our love and congrats to the happy couple today on this very happy news. I hope we get to meet little Cyrus Michael Christopher soon … I’m guessing he is a cute little dude.

Why would you post that horrible picture of Claire Danes with a birth announcement??? So wrong. I’m very disappointed. Surely there are better pictures.

ck1, I second you! The happy-news title and that crying photo of Danes are messing with my mind hahahaha

  • Ava

I agree. This is the second time you’ve put a horrible photo of someone for something positive. The last time was Elizabeth Berkley.

    • @Ava — Um, I don’t think you get the joke. Claire is known for her horrible “cry face” on Homeland. It’s an homage to that, not a dig at a positive moment.
