The Names Of The Sandy Hook Elementary School Victims Have Been Released

Ever since we first heard the horrific news out of Newtown, CT Friday morning we’ve been hearing a lot about the shooter and his family. But we haven’t been hearing much about the victims who lost their lives on that fateful day. The New York Times has published the names of the 27 people who died in the attack and I think it’s very important for all of us to read their names and maybe pause for a moment or two in remembrance.

May they all rest in peace.

Hopefully these little angels didn’t die in vain – hopefully world wide changes in gun control and the way people look at and deal with mental illness. A mom at the school I work at said – this would never happen in our city – our school… I bet the people in that town and at that school thought the very same thing.

It makes me feel sad to see the kids were all 6 or 7 years old. I sincerely wish this kind of thing will never ever happen again, here or elsewhere. No kid should be deprived of their chance to grow up and live life.

I think it is so important that everyone takes a small moment out of their life and reads this list (and others like it when other tragedies happen). We need to look at this list and feel the weight of it. Each person on this list is deserving of all of us coming together to bring about change. It’s time.

Thank you or posting this and for all of the posts you and Shannon have put together in regards to this terrible tragedy. It’s refreshing to come to a fun gossip website that refuses to shy away from some of the heavier topics that are real and very relevant.
