Kate Middleton Released From The Hospital

Royal Bump Watch

The Royal Bump Watch has officially begun! As you may recall, we learned at the start of this week that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is pregnant with her first child with husband Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge. The news was announced due to Kate‘s hospitalization with acute morning sickness. We saw photos of Prince Wills visiting his wife in the hospital but Kate has been totally out of sight since her happy news was announced. Earlier today, Kate was released from the hospital after her 4 day/3 night stay and as you can see below, she was all smiles.

With a smile and the briefest of comments that she is feeling “much better,” a fragile-looking Duchess of Cambridge left the hospital Thursday morning. An expectant Kate walked out of King Edward VII hospital with husband William at around 10:45 a.m. Just before she stepped into her waiting car, Kate – in a navy checked overcoat and light blue scarf and clutching a bouquet of yellow roses – softly answered questions from the ranks of media crews about how she was doing. She and William then headed to their cottage home in the grounds of Kensington Palace where she will continue to rest … In a short statement released by their spokesman as she left, the couple thanked the hospital for her care. “The Duchess of Cambridge has been discharged from the King Edward VII Hospital and will now head to Kensington Palace for a period of rest,” the statement read. “Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank the staff at the hospital for the care and treatment The Duchess has received.” William has been at the hospital every day throughout his wife’s stay. On Wednesday, she had a visit from her sister Pippa, 29, brother James, 25, and mother Carole. At an event on Thursday morning, Prince Charles told reporters, “I’m very glad my daughter-in-law is getting better, thank goodness.”

Yay! It’s so great to see Kate looking so happy and so well. I’ve been trying not to think too much about the poor girl puking her guts out in the hospital. I think it’s hilarious that Kate wore a thick coat, a long scarf and she carried a bouquet of flowers in order to (inadvertently?) cover up her tiny baby bump. I’m sure we’ll get a better look at her tummy soon but for now, methinks Kate will be spending some time out of sight, recovering in bed. But, she’s out of the hospital … the Royal Bump Watch is officially on.

  1. She looks absolutely gorgeous! I’m excited to see her maternity fashion :)

  2. I think it’s sad that the pregnancy was announced early. The first trimester is so touch and go, and I think it would be heartbreaking if they had to do a formal announcement that something went wrong (I’m am sending ridiculously good juju that this does not become necessary).

    • @Serenity-I agree. It’s a shame they had to leak the news so early. At the same time they couldn’t really wait since she was hospitalized. Think of all the speculation there would have been if they had not come clean!

    • @Meghan – Oh, I realize why they had to do it. I didn’t word my original comment very well. I think it’s sad that they pretty much had to announce it. The media watch is probably going to add more stress.

If she’s not even 12 weeks yet, then she doesn’t have a bump yet. LOL the baby is so small right now.

  4. She looks amazing. Hopefully her and Will get some privacy to enjoy this pregnancy. :)

She looks good, I’m sure she still feels somewhat like crud though. I bet she couldn’t wait to just go home. I hated when I was in the hospital for 5 days when I went into preterm labor and dilating at 27 weeks, I couldn’t wait to get home.
