Remember that snippet of new music that we heard from Ashlee Simpson that was released at the start of the month? Yeah, well, the full song titled Bat for a Heart has made it’s way to the Internets for our listening (dis)pleasure and, well, why don’t YOU click the video above and give it a listen. I feel no shame whatsoever in saying that I desperately loved Ashlee‘s debut album Autobiography. Even when the music that followed wasn’t all that amazing, I considered myself a fan. I’m not sure what to make of this new song. I don’t think I understand the lyrics, so the song meaning doesn’t make much sense. I don’t know what “a bat for a heart sucking up air” is supposed to mean. Does anyone know? As for the full song, do you like it? Can someone tell me what I’m missing?

I liked her voice when she did “Lala” and “Pieces of Me”. This is just rather Grandma autotune sounding.

It’s weird because it feels unfinished, yet overproduced at the same time.
I like the music but not really the song lyrics. Hopefully she releases some better songs cause I loved her Autobiography CD
This sounds very low-budget amateur. The lyrics, the music, the production, everything. Like, I-heard-better-sounding-demos-as president-of-my-college-record-label bad sounding amateur. It’s sad, I really liked Autobiography.
