Out Into The World

I’m happy to report that yesterday was mostly a good day. I managed to get out of the house for the first time in a while and even tho I’m nowhere near a place of normalcy, the sunshine and fresh air did a lot to brighten my mood … at least a little bit. I met Ollie and Caleb for brunch yesterday afternoon and then was a guest on The Dinner Party Show yesterday evening and then I met up with Tam and Rob for dinner yesterday night. Allowing myself to appreciate the wonderful people in my life has done wonders for my disposition.

Ollie, Caleb and I dined at Luna Park (one of my fave brunch places) and then we did a bit of shopping at American Rag (where I found this amazing Misfits bootleg hat that just reads Misfit — I effing love it). Then, I got all dolled up for my appearance on The Dinner Party Show where I gossed with my homie Christopher Rice and Eric Shaw Quinn about some of the week’s news (if you missed it, you can listen to then download the podcast HERE). Then, I made my way out to Los Feliz to dine with Tam and Rob at Tangier, probably my fave Korean BBQ place ever. I have to say, the “bizzy schedule” yesterday did much to keep my mind occupied … and having fun with friends is the perfect cure for what ails you. I’ll have to make sure and take lots of doses of friends as much as possible for as long as I need.

Tonight, I’m having dinner with Ollie and Caleb at their place … and then I have to pack for my trip home to Detroit tomorrow. I hear it’s going to be a warm week in D-town so, I’m really looking forward to that.

Happy Monday!!

Excellent friends, delicious food, a rewarding job and a week with your family … there’s a lot that sucks right now but those things don’t! I hope the time with your family and Sarah are particularly rejuvenating. Safe travels to happy times ahead!
