HBO Announces The Premiere Date Of ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 3

Spring Is Coming

Game of Thrones fans, take heed … Season 3 is on the way. HBO updated the official Facebook page for GoT with a new poster that announces the premiere date of the show’s third season. Now, before y’all get crazy excited by this very happy news, I should make clear that the poster is very sparse, very minimal. Still, now that we know when the third season of Game of Thrones will premiere, we can officially begin the countdown! Wee!!

And there we have it … Game of Thrones will return on March 31, 2013. Believe me, I already have my calendar marked. As you may know, season 3 of GoT will focus on the first half of the book A Storm of Swords, which is the third book in the series written by George R.R. Martin. The action in A Storm of Swords is so big, it has to be broken up into 2 seasons of the show. I am really intend on having the book series read before the show returns to HBO next March so … I have some reading to get to. Still, I’m very excited that we now know the premiere date. Who’s excited with me?

I hate to use this word, but I truly believe it is going to be absolutely EPIC!! It’s the best book of the series IMHO (not counting ADWD, cuz I haven’t read it yet lol)

i really need to read A Dance With Dragons, but the bastards keep pushing back the paperback release.

  5. Eeeeek, debuts just in time for my birthday :) I’m just staring ADWD now but ASOS has been my favourite by a mile so far….there’s so many epic moments that I can’t wait to see on screen! Trent, how far have you read into the series?

  6. Ella

Trent! Do you know if there is any truth to the rumors that our beloved Iwan Rheon who played Simon Bellamy on Misfits has joined the cast?

  7. Tyrion

You’re a bit late, the S3 premiere date has been annonced at comic-con in July, only the poster is new.
@Ella Yes Iwan Rheon has joined the cast and has already finished filiming his scenes, he’ll be in S3.
