Justin Timberlake And Jessica Biel Give Hurricane Sandy Victims Relief Items In NYC

In their very first post-Tanzanian honeymoon appearance, newlyweds Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel (who’s about to be Mrs. Timberlake for real, for real) were spotted in Far Rockaway Queens, New York volunteering at a Hurricane Sandy relief site. Although the hurricane has passed, many, many people are still without power in New York, and– as PITNBR Sara aptly points out– will spend a great deal of time trying to rebuild after the devastating effects of the storm. so it made me really happy to see these two out there putting in some serious work. Look at Jessica lifting all those boxes, lol! I’m so used to posting photos of her on the red carpet; this is a nice change. Super producer (and good friend of Justin’s) Timbaland was also in the building, which was awesome! And reports say that Justin and Jessica were there for three and a half hours giving out backpacks, blankets, and other items. They stayed until the relief truck was empty and occasionally took pictures with some of their fans. Me likey this whole movement of giving back. Peep the gallery for more!

See, this is so nice to see. Celebrities donating their money is great, but just think how many people’s days were brightened when Justin, Jessica or Timberland handed them some relief items they really needed. Very cool of them.

Yep, when you make fun of homeless people it is important to show others you are not a complete Douchebag

I’m not trying to be rude, but I just want to be clear that although the hurricane is over, the worst is truly not over for tens of thousands of people. Power is one issue, but the devastation we have experienced here in NY and NJ is serious. Over a hundred people lost their lives, tens of thousands of homes have to be condemned, and even more have been almost-ruined so will need major work and repair to be livable. I’m not sure what they’re showing you on the West coast news, but please note this is serious here. This is not an issue of pepole just waiting to get their power back and then we go back to business as usual. Please be sensitive to that. We appreciate celebrities, or anyone, doing what they can to help us rebuild — but this will take a long time.

Sara, I live in New York! I was hit by the hurricane and had to leave my home for a few, but I obviously suffered far less devastating effects than others. I appreciate the comment, it wasn’t my intention to sound insensitive. By ‘the worst’ I really meant ‘the hurricane.’ But you make a good point. Let me edit the post a bit…

Hi Shannon — Thanks. I really appreciate your edit! Best, Sara
