Watch: A Ukranian Singer Says Carly Rae Jepson Stole Her Lyrics For ‘Call Me Maybe’

Today in pop culture both Rihanna and Lady Gaga let me down big time. I was feeling pretty bummed out until PITNBR Erica Croce sent me the greatest video in the history of music videos ever. Have y’all seen this madness?! Aza is a Ukranian singer who is suing Carly Rae Jepsen because she claims that the singer stole lyrics straight off of her track Hunky Santa. I saw the story on TMZ and totally ignored it, which was a huge mistake on my part. Because I missed out on the illest, Merry Christmas-est That-Ish-Cray Of The Day!!!¬†As Erica warned me, it’s basically a ‘low budget Ukranian music video, Christmas music, with some S & M thrown in. It’s a can’t miss.‘ LMAO. Oh, and no– it doesn’t sound anything like Call Me Maybe. I think there’s literally one line that references a phone call needing to be made or something. Totally cray.

I once read somewhere that this is a “thing”: a person will sue a celebrity for plagiarism with the hope of the celebrity settling (monetarily) out of court. I mean, I’m not a lawyer (I don’t even get to play one on TV, only when…wait, I’m thinking “doctor”), but I don’t think there’s enough cause when the only thing I caught that was “similar” is “call me.”
