Scarlett Johansson Shows Off Her New Horseshoe Tattoo

Scarlett Johansson, who just last April showed off her new Thor’s Hammer wrist tattoo while promoting her film The Avengers, has gotten herself a new tattoo … one that she got inked onto her ribcage (ouch) but is happy to show off. Scarlett, for some unknown reason, decided to enlist the tattoo skills of a French graffiti artist named Fuzi Uvtpk to draw a very minimalistic horseshoe with the words “Lucky You” surrounding it. Hmmm. Click below to see and learn more.

Scarlett Johansson was snapped pulling up her grey top to reveal her new ribcage tattoo — a horseshoe inscribed with “Lucky You”. In perhaps a message to her future lovers, the “Hitchcock” actress commissioned French tattoo and graffiti artist Fuzi Uvtpk to etch the ink after she attended an exhibition of his work at Le Salon in Paris. The blonde bombshell is adding more art to her growing number of tats, and has reportedly said that tattoos make her “happy” and prefers to keep the meanings behind them “private.” Johansson has three other tattoos, a landscape picture on one arm, the initial “A” on her ankle and “I Heart New York” on her wrist.

Now, as always, I do my best not to pass judgment on the tattoo choices that other people make but … well, at least she didn’t get a goofy-looking owl tattooed on her body. Honestly, I like the minimalistic look of this graphic but I’m not really pleased with the placement. That said, I’m not sure where the tattoo might look better on ScarJo’s body but … I guess it really doesn’t matter, does it? What do y’all think of this tat? Be honest.

Meh. It’s pretty plain, but yes, it could have been worse…she could have chosen to place it on the small of her back. A “Lucky You” tramp stamp, anyone?

  • Lulu

It looks rather amateurish.. :/ Not a big fan.

  • nicole

thats a horrible tattoo.. looks cheap, like something you would get done in a back alley.

    • Jstar

      @nicole I agree, I think it looks cheap….

  • KJ

I thought this was for a movie… this is real?! LOL. I’m totally passing judgement.

  • Hannah

It looks really amateurish, so I’m a bit confused.

  • Lexie

it does look like a stick-poke tattoo!

  • Ama

…That is a terrible quality tattoo. It looks like something a child drew…maybe that is it? Maybe she had a child she loves draw it/write the ‘lucky’ part and had the tattoo artist copy it exactly when it was tattooed?

    • Vicky

I was going to comment on how horrible it was, too, but there must be something more to it. It totally looks like it’s child drawn.

  • Well, I suppose the bright side of things is that this looks like it would be easy enough to cover up with a better tattoo once she realizes the mistake she’s made.

  • Brenna

I agree with the poor quality. The “Lucky” part isn’t lined up right or anything. Weird.

  • Shivers

I was SO confused when I initially saw this tattoo, it seemed like it had to be a joke or something. But apparently the amateur-looking, slightly sloppy look of the tattoo is just the style of the tattoo artist. He purposefully creates a sloppy looking tat…which still makes no sense to me. To each her own I suppose!

Im pretty sure it’s meant to look that way. It’s a very old school sailor jerry style tattoo and i know lots of people who want that ‘traditional’ look of the older days of tattooing.

    • @Caitlin — “Im pretty sure it’s meant to look that way. It’s a very old school sailor jerry style tattoo” Yes, it’s deffo meant to look this way, it’s the tattoo artist’s style. While I don’t particularly care for it myself, some people really love the minimalistic look of this tattoo style.
