Amanda Bynes Is Suing ‘In Touch Weekly’ Over The Naked Tanning Salon Story

It’s been, like, days since we had any superfun Amanda Bynes news. Most recently she plead Not Guilty to driving her car on a suspended license and she’s got another drunk driving case coming up as well. But Amanda may be tired of playing the defendant, and she’s looking to be on the other side of the courtroom for a change. The former actress is suing In Touch Weekly magazine over a story they printed this week, in which a source claimed that Amanda walked into a NYC tanning salon completely naked, save a pair of goggles. Sounds totally crazy right? And somehow, totally believable. Click inside for more!

Us Weekly has the report:

The former Nickelodeon star… was the subject of a less-than-flattering In Touch magazine story this week.

The tabloid claimed the actress, 26, paraded around a NYC tanning salon recently — wearing nothing but her goggles.

A witness told the mag Bynes looked “painfully thin” and that “she seemed totally out of it.”

“[She] didn’t seem to care that everyone saw her naked,” the witness shared. (A store employee countered that Bynes comes in frequently but “is always polite” and “usually just in and out.”)

Needless to say, Bynes isn’t pleased with the publication’s report on her visit to the salon.

“I’m suing In Touch for printing a fake story,” the furious star told Us Weekly Thursday. “I’m not ‘troubled.’ I don’t get naked in public. I’m 26, a multi-millionaire, retired. Please respect my privacy.”

Bynes herself may not be troubled, but she’s got legal troubles a-plenty — the former What I Like About You star is currently facing a DUI, two hit-and-run charges, as well as two separate charges for driving with a suspended license.

Following her spring DUI arrest, Bynes took to Twitter to plead her case to a higher power: President Barack Obama.

“Hey Barack Obama . . . I don’t drink,” she wrote in June. “Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end.”

Madness! And that tweet is um… something special, LOL. Anyway, here’s the In Touch article. Like I said, the story sounds kinda cray cray, but this is a girl who reportedly stared at cupcakes for, like, two hours in NYC just to get some attention a while back. This may be a little more drastic but at this point, we’re apt to believe just about anything that we hear about Amanda Bynes. Sad, but true…

Still, of all the stories that get printed about her, this is the one she’s fighting against. Do y’all think she’s right to sue In Touch?

Sidenote: I looove the way Amanda describes herself: 26, multi-millionaire, retired. LMAO. That is… awesome.

I tend to believe the story only because it is from InTouch (come on!). If it were a story from Us or People I would probably buy it.

Also, LOVE her description of herself. Hahaha. Damn, I miss normal Amanda. Be right back, gonna go mourn the loss of normal and unretired Amanda while watching She’s The Man…

ClaireMichelle, I could totally see the story being phony but soooo many bogus stories get printed like that, I’m always surprised when a celeb wants to go after one publication in particular.

a 26 year old retired multi-millionaire, ugh, someone shoot her.
