The ‘Twilight’ Trio Reunites To Promote ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2′

Just before Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart stepped out to celebrate Hallowe’en night together, they sat down with MTV News to promote their forthcoming new (and final) Twilight film. K. Stew and R. Pattz were joined by their third wheel Taylor Lautner for the chat and seemingly presented smiling and joking faces, as if everyone was fine and dandy and no conflict existed between any of them … at all … ever. Click below to read excerpts and watch video from the Twilight Trio’s interview with MTV and see how happy everyone looks to be promoting The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

With Kristen Stewart’s fling with director Rupert Sanders fresh in the minds of many Twilight fans, it can’t have been a task she looked forward to. But the actress looked relaxed and happy as she sat down for her first television interview with on-off-on again boyfriend and co-star Robert Pattinson. The stars sat down with co-star Taylor Lautner for televised chats on MTV News and Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, to promote the forthcoming last instalment in the franchise, Breaking Dawn: Part II. Topic for discussion were strictly franchised focussed, although did occasionally stray to Stewart and Pattinson’s Halloween costumes and the trio’s attitudes towards the press. Stewart sat in the middle of the three stars, looking pretty in a blue and black top and black jeans while Pattinson sported a dark green blazer and shirt. The real-life couple, who play Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in the hit franchise, are reported to have briefly split up after Stewart was photographed kissing her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders back in July. Now, with the relationship very much back on, a relaxed Stewart admitted she would miss ‘doing’ press with her co-stars after four years. ‘For the last few press junkets, they’ve been separating everyone which is silly. I think because we love hanging out,’ she said. The couple, who rarely discuss their relationship in public, seemed more than happy to talk about the Halloween party they attended together on Wednesday night. ‘Oh yes, it looks awesome,’ she said eyeing the photograph of herself … ‘That’s not fair. That’s actually a really weird [photo].’ But Pattinson was initially reluctant to admit he was the man behind the creepy clear mask with eyebrows painted on. ‘That’s not me,’ he exclaimed, laughing, admitting: ‘I chose someone who is just genuinely terrifying. It was a $3 mask from a 7-Eleven’ … Pattinson was his usual self-deprecating self in the interview, deflecting problematic questions with humour. ‘I’d imagine it’s quite like the scene where she’s doing the pottery in Ghost,’ he quipped, when quizzed about a sex scene in the film. The cast also recalled the audition process for the first Twilight film, with Stewart having had a say in who director Catherine Hardwicke cast as Edward and Taylor’s character Jacob Black. ‘I take full credit for both of these guys actually,’ she said sarcastically when asked if she was partially responsible for their success.

Awww, look at the 3 of them … happy as can be. Irregardless of whether or not you believe that Robsten are back together for real or not, you have to admit that they are consummate PROS for enduring years of this kind of banal film promotion. IMHO, the Twilight film franchise is among the cheesiest collections of movies that have ever been made. They get worse and worse with each release and at long last, the franchise is coming to an end. That these actors have to constantly promote the release of these films is just … a lot. Yes, each one of these actors has made a fortune from the Twilight film franchise but let’s be real, it is hard work to put so much effort into something as mindlessly frivolous as the Twilight series of movies. I can truly believe that Rob and Kristen are back together, at least for now. They’ve been thru so much together — both good and bad — it’s easy to believe that their relationship is able to endure (again, at least for now) a few bumps in the road.

I wish I was as excited about this last film as I was with the first. I’m just exhausted now. They’re exhausting.

Hey! C’mon, the movies haven’t all been bad, the first BD was fantastic, much better than Eclipse. And New Moon was so suspenseful, Chris Weitz did an excellent job with a very slow book. I will definitely be at the midnight premiere of this movie, can’t wait!

    • @laurenl — “I will definitely be at the midnight premiere of this movie, can%u2019t wait!” Let us know how it is, having read the book … I’m curious.

@trent I will absolutely report back on the comparison! My favorite thing to do is judge a movie by it’s book. Good luck in the SF half!

Is Kristen cold? She keeps fidgeting too much. I don’t think anything interesting was said except the last 10 seconds of the clip. Can’t wait for the film though!
