The Defamation Case Against Britney Spears’s Parents Has Been Dismissed

For the past 3 years, Osama Sam Lutfi has waged a legal war with Britney Spears’s parents Lynne and Jamie Spears over allegations that he was wronged by them. He accused Lynne of defamation and Jamie of assault. He also accused Britney’s management team of monies owed because of his claim that he was Britney’s manager during the darkest days of her life when she was at her lowest point. I’ve not spent any time covering this ridiculous lawsuit here on the site because IMHO, Lutfi enjoyed far too much time already exploiting Britney in any way he could. Yesterday, the judge overseeing Lutfi’s lawsuit threw the case out of court completely due to lack of evidence. The Spears family was vindicated and Lutfi, well, I hope he crawled back into the slimy hole he slithered out of.

A three-year legal battle abruptly came to an apparent end for the Spears family. A Los Angeles judge threw out Sam Lutfi’s entire lawsuit on Thursday after attorneys for Britney Spears and her family argued that he hadn’t proven his case after six days of testimony. Lutfi, 38, a onetime confidante of the singer, sued Britney for unpaid fees, her dad Jamie Spears for allegedly punching him, and mom Lynne Spears for purportedly defaming him in her 2008 book. “I really thought long and hard about this,” Superior Court Judge Suzanne Bruguera said before dismissing the case. “It’s the right thing to do.” Jamie’s attorney Leon Gladstone said following the hearing, “We’re delighted, we feel it’s the right result.” Jamie Spears, who hugged his legal team, declined to comment. Lutfi appeared emotionless, then said, “I’m going to appeal” after leaving the courtroom.

As I said, I’ve been hesitant to even mention Lutfi’s name because to me, he represents in flesh and blood the very sad period of time when Britney was literally lost. Those days are really sad to think about, especially when you consider that she not only lost custody of her children but, IMHO, she almost lost her life as well. I, personally, believe that Lutfi had much to do with Britney’s downfall and it just really disgusted me to see the man attempt to bleed her and her family of anything else. As I understand it, Lynne left the courthouse vindicated and made her way straight to the set of The X Factor last night to support her daughter. I have no doubt that Lutfi will appeal and will continue to do anything he can to try and exploit Britney and her family further. I’m just glad the judge threw out the case completely. The man doesn’t have a leg to stand on. Hopefully (tho not likely), he will go away … completely.

I am so glad the Judge in this case was so intelligent and strait forward, she did an excellent job by ruling out all the drama and looking at the facts. This creep should NOT get any compensation for recklessly defaming Brittney when she was clearly in the need of help, not exploitation. He exploited her pure and simple, and if he can’t see that, he’s way out of touch with reality.
