Cee Lo Green Has Been Accused Of Sexual Battery

Oh... Shizz

It sucks to report this because I lurve me some Cee Lo Green, but the artist and The Voice judge is being accused of sexually assaulting a woman he allegedly took to a popular sushi restaurant in Los Angeles. TMZ released the story last night, with a few new details emerging this morning. Since the report hit, Cee Lo has spoken out, insisting that the claims are completely false. I sincerely hope they are… click inside for more.

TMZ has the report:

Cee Lo Green is the target of an LAPD sexual battery investigation, TMZ has learned … but  the singer is adamant he did NOTHING wrong.

Law enforcement sources tell us … a woman recently filed a police report with the LAPD, accusing “The Voice” judge — real name Thomas DeCarlo Callaway — of a sexual assault.

Our sources say detectives have already visited a restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles in connection with the case and questioned several employees, including the manager.   We do not know if the alleged incident occurred at the restaurant.

The LAPD is mum on the identity of the alleged victim, when and where the incident allegedly occurred, and what Cee Lo allegedly did.

Cee Lo tells TMZ he categorically denies ANY wrongdoing. In fact, the singer says he hasn’t been to the restaurant in question in 3 months … and insists, “Nothing ever happened there or anywhere else.”

We also spoke with a source who is constantly with Cee Lo … who tells us, “I have never seen Cee Lo act in a physical way toward anybody.”

The investigation is in its infancy … no charges have been filed and the case has not been referred to prosecutors.

And here’s the update:

The woman accusing Cee Lo of sexual assault has told police … “The Voice” judge attacked her inside a popular L.A. sushi restaurant  … TMZ has learned.

As we first reported, the LAPD has launched an investigation into the woman’s allegations.  Sources tell us, detectives went to the restaurant last week and interviewed several employees, including the manager, to determine if anyone saw the alleged attack.

We’re told the accuser is NOT an employee of the restaurant …she’s someone Cee Lo brought to dinner.

Cee Lo tells us the woman’s claims are BS and that he hasn’t been to the restaurant for 3 months.

Our sources say, the accuser told cops the alleged incident occurred several months ago.  It’s unclear why she waited so long to file a police report.

UGH. UGH ALL AROUND. This is bad… and to be honest, it kinda hurts my stomach to think of Cee Lo doing something like this. So while I really hope it’s not true, I will probably be equally livid if real evidence shows that the woman is lying. Neither version of this story is particularly empowering for women… we’re either still being sexually assaulted or still lying about being sexually assaulted. Bad news all around.

What do you guys think about the report? I don’t even want to speculate about whether or not this is something Cee Lo is capable of… but, based on the few deets we have, does it sounds to you like he’s guilty?

Oh and P.S. I don’t like when people (like the guys/gals over at TMZ) point out the fact that someone has taken “so long” to file a report about sexual assault. Please. Let’s not do that.

  1. I see you’ve accused me of sexual assault in a sushi restaurant and I’m like, f*ck youuuu

  2. Megan

I don’t see anything in Cee Lo’s personality or nature that would ever suggest something like this. And while out in a restaurant? However, it makes me sad to think a women would lie about this. And she is not trying to get her 15 minutes of fame by talking to people, yet anyways, so that’s not a good sign. Sad

    • Megan, I hear you. I love Cee Lo! But I also don’t know him like that; still, his image does not project this (although he can be quite a flirt… but I’d hate for that be the ‘proof’ of guilt). Anyway, new details are developing, but it’s impossible to know what really happened.
