This is kinda scary news, considering that just yesterday we heard that members of the Houston family were concerned about young Bobbi Kristina‘s excessive drinking (as am I). Apparently, the late Whitney Houston‘s mother Cissy and sister-in-law Pat Houston have been engaged in a legal battle over Bobbi Kristina‘s inheritance, as they were concerned that she was set to come into a lot of money at a very young age. And we all know how that can go… But it sounds like they are dropping the issue completely, and giving Bobbi what she wants. Her money. Now! Or now-ish. Click inside for deets.

Bobbi Kristina‘s grandmother Cissy Houston has BACKED OFF her attempt to keep Whitney Houston’s money from Bobbi Kristina for years — we found out Cissy has settled her beef with BK.
TMZ broke the story … Cissy and Pat Houston (co-executors of Whitney’s estate) … had filed legal papers hoping to drastically change the way Whitney’s fortune would be paid out to 18-year-old Bobbi .. because they felt it was “too much, too soon.”
As it stood, BK was to receive her money — an estimated $20 million — in 3 separate chunks … 10% when she turns 21 ($2 mil), just under 20% at age 25 ($4 mil) and the remainder when she turns 30 ($16 mil).
Now, we’ve learned … the case has been dismissed after Bobbi and Cissy reached an agreement … and sources tell us Whitney’s originally plan for the payout was virtually unchanged.
Still, we’re told both Bobbi and Cissy are satisfied with the plan … and are happy to put the case behind them.
So yeah. Honestly? This can’t be good news. I know it’s not the first time somebody crazy young came into crazy money, but I just cannot get over those few minutes I saw on their new reality show. Bobbi Kristina looked like the last thing she needs is a couple million dollars in a few years, even though I’m sure she feels entitled to it. If I was 19, I probably would feel the same way. But hopefully, she and her family members will use this time to get her healthy.
What do you guys think? Should Cissy and Pat have fought harder to keep that money AWAY from Bobbi Kris for a little longer? I don’t exactly know how these things works, but I’m assuming that would be kind of difficult to do, if Whitney left a will with specific instructions for her daughter’s inheritance. Still, that’s a whooole lot of money…

they definitely should have fought harder. the girl clearly has issues she needs to work on. i give it a month after she gets her money before something serious happens.

Bobbi is still very much a child, easily influenced and extremely impulsive. She has the grief of her mother’s death to deal with, the media spotlight putting pressure on her, and practically no solid relationship with her father. It would be for the best if she were to take a few years off, be allowed to mature gracefully away from the public eye, and make the mistakes and learn the lessons all of us do at that age. I don’t see putting $6M in her hands as a smart idea without some form of supervision because she’s been very erratic.
It shouldn’t be forgotten that, sadly, both her parents had alcohol and/or drug abuse issues, and that addiction sometimes runs in families.
This poor girl needs guidance not a disposable income…she’s a mess, a huge mess….I watched the first 2 episodes of this show & wish I could get that time back, can you say too soon or how about inappropriate?
