Last week we learned officially that Beyoncé has signed on to perform the Super Bowl Halftime Show next year which, as you may know, is sponsored by Pepsi. The last time the Super Bowl Halftime Show was sponsored by Pepsi, Beyoncé joined headliner Prince on stage back in 2007. This time, it’s Bey‘s show … and to promote her upcoming performance, she was spotted filming a new Pepsi commercial this week. It’s unclear if the commercial will be released before the Super Bowl takes place next year or if it’s being saved for Super Bowl Sunday but we do know that Beyoncé is already hard at work with Pepsi to ensure her halftime show is a smash success.
Beyoncé‘s ubiquitous these days! Last week, news broke that the star would perform at the 47th Superbowl and now news of a Pepsi ad set to air during the game has added to the excitement. A singular photo of Bey on the set of her latest Pepsi commercial surfaced yesterday (Oct. 23), putting fans on edge. Mrs. Carter can be seen wearing a 50s style look–pumps, a gold pencil skirt, a green cardigan and her blonde hair swept up in a chignon. Other artists who’ve joined forces with Pepsi include Michael Jackson and Britney Spears. The “Dance For You” singer has been partnered with the brand since 2002, appearing in several commercials over the years. Her first was an unforgettable rendition of Carmen.
Beyoncé has been a loyal Pepsi spokesmodel for a very long time and it sounds to me like she was the ONLY choice as Super Bowl Halftime performer once Pepsi signed on to sponsor the show. My guess is that Pepsi beat out all the other advertisers (Bridgestone Tires has been the sponsor for many of the most recent halftime shows) to sponsor next year’s show and they had a say in who would perform … obvs, they would want a performer that is a Pepsi spokesmodel. It’s all just too perfect. No matter when this commercial gets released, I can’t wait to see it. I’m thinking next year is going to be a big year for Beyoncé … cuz, yeah, she needs another big year ;)
