Recently we heard that rapper Nas lost his house in Georgia due to foreclosure, and we got into an interesting discussion about celebrities and how they sometimes handle (or mishandle) their seemingly ginormous bank accounts. Prince is also caught up in a bit of financial drama, although it seems like the musician has a good handle on the situation. A debt collection agency recently withdrew over $116,000 from one of his bank accounts and Prince was all ‘oh hellll nawl!’ He wants his money back. Like, now. Click inside for more!
Complex has the story:
Capital Asset Protection, a debt collecting agency, recently withdrew over $116,000 from Prince’s bank account and now, he wants his money back. CAP withdrew amounts of $105,949.14 and $10,278.94 back in June but in documents recently submitted by Prince reveal that a judge vacated that original judgement in October, 2011 and thereby zeroing his debt to the production company. The collection was made from a lawsuit originally stating that Prince breached a production contract.
It sounds like Prince has some good people around him watching his money, because I’m sure many celebrities don’t always catch things like that. $116,000 is a lot of money, but if you’re not careful (and you have a helluva lot more money), a withdrawal like that could easily be missed. Kudos to Prince for having it all under control.
But here’s the thing– what were the people at the debt collection agency thinking, lol??? Like, oh we’ll just try to take it and see if he forgot about that whole lawsuit thing, or maybe he won’t notice. That’s a big risk to take! Or maybe it was just a little $116,000 mistake. What do you guys think?

I’ve heard so many horror stories about the shady things collections agencies do. I bet this one did think that he wouldn’t notice, or that if he did, he wouldn’t know enough to realize they were wrong. Silly collection agency!
