Earlier this month we got our first look at the cover artwork for Christina Aguilera‘s new album Lotus. Today we get to check out a stunning promo photo released to promote the album and I have to say … THIS is the kind of photo that should’ve been used for the album art. Honestly, the cover art for Lotus isn’t my favorite. I don’t hate it but I didn’t really respond to it when I first saw it (actually, I’m still not responding much). This photo, I’m responding to. Soft make-up, cute flower usage … this is a very pretty photo. This is the kind of softer look that I really would LOVE to see from Xtina more often. She usually overdoes it with the garish make-up and it sometimes makes her look cheap. Look how lovely she looks in this photo. Don’t get me wrong, I hate a lot of Britney Spears album covers, too (Femme Fatale? Blagh!) and as long as the music on the disc is good, I’ll be a fan. But this is the kind of image that I’d love to see Xtina put out more. I am in LOVE with this photo, aren’t you?

i LOVE this picture, the softer look seems to be the overall theme with the pictures for the album. actually…she seems to be rocking the softer look more often overall – which is great.
christina has to stop dressing trashy, she is better than that, she doesn’t need all the trashy outfit, crazy hair, her music is enough to make her stand out.
