Welp, it’s officially official … I am signed up to run the 2012 Honolulu Marathon on December 9 of this year. As you may recall, I mentioned previously that I was planning to run this race but up until today, I hadn’t been officially signed on. In recent weeks, my training schedule took a big hit due to a number of personal reasons but I’m finally back on track with my next half marathon coming up in Detroit this coming Sunday. Yesterday I ran a really great 10 mile run so I’m totally set for my next half marathon (the first of 4 halfs that I’ll be running in the next 30 days — Detroit, LA, San Francisco and Malibu). I still have a LOT of training to go to run my first full marathon but … I’m signed up to get ‘er done!

I’m sorry to say that David cannot commit (yet) to going to Hawaii with me in December (for work reasons) and, honestly, that kept me from officially registering for the race. I didn’t want to go by myself. But, my dear Emma — truly one of the best people I know — has agreed to go to Hawaii to support me during my race. It is because of her support that I went ahead and registered. We’ll be spending at total of 5 days in Honolulu and I am SO excited. But … I have other races to get thru first (those 4 half marathons I mentioned and an easy 10K). I’ve come so far in my running training … from being a bona fide couch potato to becoming a couch potato that runs, too ;) I’m excited … Hawai’i, I can’t wait to get in you!
No big plans for today, I have an appointment in Santa Monica this afternoon so I’ll likely be tied up in traffic for the rest of my life. I have to finish packing because tomorrow I leave for Detroit for the rest of the week. I hope you are having a great Tuesday :) Wee!!

How fun & exciting!! You are an inspiration! :)
