Snooki Skipped The ‘Jersey Shore’ Season 4 Premiere To Stay Home & Care For Her Baby

Yes, Really

When Jersey Shore star Nicole Snooki Polizzi gave birth to her first child earlier this year, many people doubted that she would be mother material. Only known for her ridiculous and hard-partying ways, Snooki cultivated a reputation that easily made people doubt that she would be a good mother. In the weeks since her son Lorenzo Dominic was born, Snooki has been sharing a lot of really cute photos of the little dude … but that alone does not a good mother make. This weekend, she actually did prove that she might be ready for motherhood choosing to stay home and care for her newborn over going out to party with her reality TV castmates at the Jersey Shore season 4 premiere party. Huh, who knew?

She may never have missed an open bar in the past, but new mom Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi skipped a “Jersey Shore” final season premiere party last week to instead stay home with baby Lorenzo. “Snooki called [co-star] Deena Cortese before the party,” a spy said. “Snooki told her she wasn’t going, but it had nothing to do with the rest of the cast. She wanted to stay home with the kid.”

Let’s be real here, staying home from one party doesn’t mean Snooki has had a change of life … but it does show that she seems to have her priorities straight. Let’s also be clear, had she decided to leave her baby at home for one night with his father or a babysitter, that would NOT make her a bad mother. Still, I think it says a lot about how much the young woman has grown since she became pregnant. I had hoped that Snooki would turn out to be a good mom and it sounds like she may be on the right path. Hopefully soon, the Snooki we all know (and laughed at) will be replaced by Nicole, a mother that is truly respected rather than mocked.

  1. Trent, I love the way you’re putting this. If she HADN’T stayed home that wouldn’t have made her a bad mother, and HAVING stayed home doesn’t make her a bad mother. It’s more complicated than that… but I’m usually on #TeamHomeWithBaby, so I’m happy to hear that’s what she did.
