Anna Nicole Smith Will Be Played By ‘Private Practice’ Star Agnes Bruckner In The Upcoming Biopic

From The Director Of 'American Psycho'!!!

When reports surfaced about Miley Cyrus playing Bonnie in the new Bonnie & Clyde remake, we also heard about an upcoming Anna Nicole Smith biopic from Lifetime. It sounds like the project is officially in the works, as the studio has released information about the lead roles for the television movie. Agnes Bruckner, who plays Heather on Private Practice, will play Anna Nicole Smith. But the absolute best news ever is that the genius who brought us American Psycho (Mary Harron) is directing the movie! Click inside for more deets.

E! has the story:

The Lifetime movie chronicling the life and death of Anna Nicole Smith is coming together.

Private Practice star Agnes Bruckner has been cast as the late Playboy Playmate, while Oscar-winning actor Martin Landau will play oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall. The project, titled The Anna Nicole Story, also got a director today: American Psycho writer/director Mary Harron.

The TV movie will follow Smith’s rise from a small-town girl in Texas to Guess jeans model and Playboy star, as well as depict her marriage to the then 89-year-old Marshall. Smith, who was also the star of E!’s first reality series, died in 2007.

The Anna Nicole Story will start production in the next few weeks and I gotta say, I’m kind of excited. As I’ve said before, I love a good biopic and this one sounds like it has a strong team behind it. I will also watch anything that is related in any way, shape, or form to the American Psycho movie.

Now I haven’t seen Private Practice but I know PITNBR Hannah has, and I’m sure we have a few other fans of the show on here as well. What do y’all think of the casting decision? And is anybody else interested in seeing the biopic?
