TLC was one of the greatest singing groups ever in the history of time… ever! They changed the 90s and they changed my life! Which is why it saddens me to hear that one member is getting ready to go the route of reality TV. Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins will no longer be known solely as the lead singer of former super girl-group TLC, because she will soon be the star of a reality show on… TLC. Totally T-Boz is coming to the network, and I’m pretty bummed out about that. Click inside to learn more.
TMZ has the story:
Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins — best known for being one-third of 90’s girl group TLC — is getting her own reality show … and the network making it happen — is none other than TLC.
Sources close to the production tell TMZ … the network has ordered four episodes of Watkins’ reality show called “Totally T-Boz” which will air on TLC in 2013.
The timing couldn’t be better — considering T-Boz filed for bankruptcy in late 2011 and could probably use the paycheck.
We’re told the show will focus on the 42-year-old single mom as she tries to re-launch her music career … after recovering from the life-threatening brain tumor she was diagnosed with in 2006.
The brain tumor was so bad, once it was removed, T-Boz had to relearn how to walk and talk.
We’re told, the show will star her daughter, brother, cousins and friends … and is currently filming in Atlanta.
First of all I knew T-Boz had some health problems, but I had no clue that she’d suffered a brain tumor. She’s been through so much and it’s good to hear that she’s remaining strong throughout all of these things.
About the reality show. Okay.
I’m sure T-Boz could use the money, and far be it from me to hate on another woman’s hustle… but… whyyyyyy???? Why this way T-Boz?! I know, I know. That reality show money is no joke, apparently. I just want to remember my 90s heros as they were… and I’m pretty sure Totally T-Boz will not allow me to do so!
Still, maybe it will be a good look for T-Boz. If she’s seriously trying to re-launch her music career, this might give her some visibility. And Chilli had that one reality show that I must have watched at least, like, four times. I guess that was cool, lol. Oh, and then they did that singing competition show together that I absolutely never watched (R U The Girl). So yeah… I dunno guys, I’m just having trouble coming to terms with this.
What do y’all think? Will T-Boz just become another former star who kind of makes a fool of herself on reality TV (that’s what I’m afraid of), or is this a good look for her? And will you be tuning in to Totally T-Boz?
You know, I think it’s the name of the show too… it’s really kind of annoying, IMO. Totally T-Boz? Really?
