Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Gets A Guest Spot On ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’

Fans of the always quirky, often creepy FX comedy It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia will either be really happy or really horrified that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is headed their way. Because I like the show (and because the love of my life is sort of obsessed with it in somewhat unhealthy ways), I think we can expect good things from Diddy’s forthcoming guest appearance. We don’t have a lot of info on who Diddy’s playing, but we do know that, like it or not, Bad Boy will definitely be in the building AKA Paddy’s Pub. Deets inside!

The Hollywood Reporter has the story:

The gang is getting a visit from Diddy.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Sean “Diddy” Combs is set to appear in the upcoming season It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The hip-hop mogul and occasional actor’s most recent comedic role was in the 2010 feature Get Him to the Greek.

Details on Combs’ character are under wraps, but he’s scheduled to start filming his guest spot on the FX comedy on Monday. His recent TV credits in Hawaii Five-0 and CSI: Miami.

The eighth season of Sunny in Philadelphia kicks off Thursday, Oct. 11. FX renewed Always Sunny for an eighth and ninth season in 2011.

Now the last time we actually reported on Diddy he was in the news because someone broke into his mansion and used his toothbrush, which I thought was hilarious and, well, kind of awesome. I really, really hope that The Gang pokes fun at Diddy on whatever episodes he’s in, or that he gets somewhat of a goofy role. I can only take Diddy seriously when I’m not being asked to take him seriously… if that makes any sense.

Lol, no but seriously. Diddy is, IMO, actually a watchable actor. I didn’t see Get Him To The Greek but I remember liking his small role in Monster’s Ball and, along with the whole cast, he was nominated for an Emmy for his role in the 2008 remake of Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin In The Sun. So. I’m thinking his appearance on It’s Always Sunny… will be a good thing.

What do y’all think? Are you down for some Diddy-boppin on FX? I know for a fact that if I see him in any scene with Danny DeVito I will pretty much be ROFLMAO for at least 3-5 minutes. So yeah, I’m pumped!

Shannon, I didn’t know how else to get this to you, but my brother posted a video on Facebook today that you HAVE to see.

It seriously made my day. We need to see more of DMX, and not just whatever trainwreck relationship show/celebrity rehab thing he did on VH1.

Erica Croce, before I watch let me just warn you that I still– TO THIS DAY– claim DMX as my all-time favorite rapper. For that reason I have not watched or listened to ANYTHING he’s done (reality shows, new music, etc.) since, like 2001. You’re puttin me in an awk position right now, LMAO.

But I’m getting ready to watch it now… and if I’m crying by the end of it (which I will be), it’s on your conscience. And your brothers. ((Deep breath)) Here I go.

LOLOLOLOL. Okay. Thank you. Now accept my friend request or I’m never talking to you again ;)

    Well, if I don’t have a choice…

But seriously, that was amazing. I hope it was worth the awkwardness.

    • Shannon

Totally worth it, lol! And truth be told, the love of my life recently FORCED me to sit through his entire Power 105 interview. I had to get up and walk away a few times, but I eventually made it through. He still my fave… sadly. LMAO.

We all have guilty pleasures. But that video is just proof of why the Internet always wins. Always. I mean, I watched the video and saw in one of the comments a suggestion to search for “DMX Reading Rainbow”. You know I had to do it! And now you will too. I’m not even sure which one was better…

But FYI…DMX Reading Rainbow is not suitable for the babies…not like anything DMX does would be, but still.
