Lindsay Lohan was arrested by police in NYC late last night/early this morning after she allegedly struck a pedestrian with her car while driving. No, this isn’t a headline from 2007, this actually went down last night. After quite a few months of managing to stay out of trouble here in SoCal, Lindsay was able to pack up her bags and move to NYC, presumably for a fresh start. I have no idea why in HELL Lindsay was driving a car in Manhattan but, it would seem, that her inability to operate a motor vehicle without getting into trouble has followed her from the West Coast to the East Coast. Click below for all the reported deets of this latest arrest and marvel at the continued reign of trainwreckness that L. Lo continues to exhibit.
Lindsay Lohan was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident early this morning after allegedly clipping a pedestrian in downtown Manhattan … TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Lindsay was pulling in to park her Porsche Cayenne near the Dream Hotel in downtown NYC when — at a very low speed — she allegedly hit the knee of a 30-something year old guy. That was around shortly after midnight. We’re told one of Lindsay’s passengers in the SUV got out and checked the vehicle for damage, and then LiLo and co. went inside the hotel. We’re told someone called police while Lindsay was inside … and when she walked out of the hotel — around 2:30AM ET — officers arrested her. As Lindsay was taken into custody she frantically screamed, “Call my dad! Call my dad!” According to our sources … Lindsay was taken to the station, fingerprinted, photographed and booked for leaving the scene of an accident — a misdemeanor — and then released with a desk appearance ticket … meaning she did not have to pay bail before release … We’re told the alleged victim was hospitalized … however, he was not knocked down or dragged, and didn’t have any visible injuries … Lindsay is telling friends she had no idea she hit anybody and it wasn’t until she came out and got arrested that she knew anything was going on … Lohan is calling the incident “really fishy” because the man didn’t appear to have any visible injuries and feels she’s the victim of a set up. She’s not going to let the incident go and is planning on fighting it to the end … This arrest could absolutely trigger a probation violation in Lindsay’s jewelry theft case because one of the conditions of probation is she OBEY ALL LAWS. Even without a conviction, Judge Stephanie Sautner — the judge in the jewelry theft case — could haul Lindsay’s butt into court if there’s probable cause to believe she committed a crime.
As for the “fishiness”, TMZ is also reporting that surveillance video from the hotel shows the entire incident and according to them, it doesn’t seem to show that a crime has taken place … at least, according to the assessment of their sources:
Sources connected to the hotel tell us … the video shows the entire incident and the aftermath. Lindsay was driving into the hotel, down a ramp. The alleged victim was walking in the pedestrian path, which Lindsay had to cross. The video shows Lindsay’s car — which is traveling at a crawl — gets very close to the pedestrian but it’s unclear if the vehicle makes contact. In fact, sources tell us … 2 detectives came to the hotel early this morning and viewed the tape. One detective felt Lindsay’s car “grazed” the back of the alleged victim’s leg, but the other detective felt the car never made contact. And it gets better. Once Lindsay clears the area and goes down a ramp, the video shows the alleged victim sprinting after her. The video shows the alleged victim does not get real close to Lindsay, and it doesn’t appear that he confronted her, but it appears when he got down there he noticed it was Lindsay — partly because she had drawn a crowd near the entrance to the club. When Lindsay gets out of the car at the bottom of the ramp, she does not seem flustered or aware she may have hit someone. Here’s where it gets confusing. For some reason, Lindsay decided to leave the club minutes after arriving, got back in her car and left for a short time … then came back. Meanwhile, the alleged victim called 911 and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Now, I’m not trying to make light of this situation but … c’mon, it’s a story we’ve heard countless times again and again. Lindsay Lohan is always innocent, she never does anything wrong. The only difference this time is that Lindsay’s arrest occurred at the hands of the NYPD (and it doesn’t sound like they eff around) and her antics are being reported by The New York Times. It’s interesting that just a couple of days ago, Lindsay was complaining on Twitter that Amanda Bynes has been able to exhibit alleged criminal behavior without being arrested … and here she goes, BAM!, another arrest and mugshot. It’s like, Lindsay now wants to remind the world that she is still the queen trainwreck of the world. I’m honestly at a loss … what else is there to say? Lindsay has so worn out her welcome here in LA that her beloved Chateau Marmont had to BAN her from ever coming back. Now she’s in NYC, driving again for who the eff knows why, and the ridiculous drama that surrounds her results in yet another arrest. Yes, in all fairness, she very well could be “innocent” in all of this and she could be “targeted” by opportunists … but when you live a sad life like Lindsay Lohan has lived in the past 6+ years, it’s not difficult to see that the Girl Who Cried Wolf is an easy target for this kind of continued scandal. It remains to be seen what Lindsay’s judge (who is still overseeing the terms of her probation) will do in the wake of this arrest but this is not the last we’ll hear of Lindsay’s legal woes. I just know it.
Amanda … it’s your move.0
