Lifetime TV Releases Promo Stills From ‘Liz & Dick

Last month Lifetime TV released the LAMEST promo video EVER for their upcoming new Elizabeth Taylor biopic Liz & Dick which stars Lindsay Lohan and Grant Bowler as Liz and Dick (Burton), respectively. The video was lame because it showed us NOTHING but one still photo … in a video … lame. Today, at long last, we get to see what L. Lo looks like as Liz in the film in a set of NEW promo photos released by Lifetime. As you can see below, the 3 promo photos feature Lohan as Liz in 3 different stages of her life (Bowler only features in one photo). Wanna get your FIRST LOOK at Lindsay Lohan’s impersonation of Elizabeth Taylor? Check out the photos below.

When she’s not mired in legal trouble or stocking fodder for the gossip mags, Lindsay Lohan can still apparently embody old-style Hollywood glamor. Or, at least fake it on the set of a movie. Several stills of the 26-year-old actress from the Lifetime biopic, “Liz & Dick,” were released Thursday. And Lohan’s resemblance to screen icon Elizabeth Taylor is uncanny – particularly one from a scene recreating the filming of “Cleopatra.” “Liz & Dick” chronicles the stormy romance between Taylor and “Cleopatra” co-star Richard Burton (played by Grant Bowler) in a behind-the-scenes drama much more riveting than the actual 1963 epic. “I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor,” Lohan said in a statment after she landed the role in April. “She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.” It’s Lohan’s first major role since 2010’s “Machete,” but the child-star-turned-ex-con has been on a comeback surge since her career was derailed by her legal troubles in recent years. In January, she posed for Playboy magazine and was then the host of “Saturday Night Live” in March. She is now currently filming “The Canyons,” a thriller from writer Bret Easton Ellis co-starring former porn star James Deen.

Um, I think it’s a bit too early to refer to Lindsay’s current career trajectory as a “comeback” just yet. Posing for Playboy magazine does not a comeback make. Still, I’m kinda impressed by what I’m seeing here. Yes, they are just photos … but they are photos that actually resemble Elizabeth Taylor … somewhat. But it’s one thing to appear in costume as a person and it’s quite another to actually act like the person in a film. In all honesty — and this is not a dig — I don’t have much faith that Lindsay will be able to do the life of Elizabeth Taylor justice with her acting skills. I could be completely wrong and I will happy recant if she proves me wrong but … I think it’s better to err on the side of caution when it comes to predicting how Lindsay will fare in this film. As for these photos … what do YOU think? Impressed? Scared? Other?

I’ll hold off judgement until I see actual footage, but I don’t plan on ever watching the full film. I did however watch The Parent Trap yesterday and it made me so sad. She really really was a talented kid, she had a spark. I remember seeing it and being in awe of her especially when I found out that she played both characters. Now I couldn’t be further away from being in awe of Lindsay Lohan.

Something about her and her costar just screams, “Dad” to me. I don’t know, I’ll definitely watch to see how it turns out.

  • Richard Riddick

i think her playing liz is an insult to her memory, they should of picked some one with talent and class.

I think she looks just like Elizabeth!!! But! the Credit got to be given to the Hair, make-up and wardrobe stylists for that one, not Lohan…………

I hope she does good, or else the directors and producers are gona fall to the D-list along with Lohan… who’s been there for a while
