This summer has been a turbulent time for Paris, Prince, and Blanket (Prince), children of the late Michael Jackson. Between news of Paris‘s first movie and the custody situation (and alleged kidnapping of Katherine Jackson, their guardian) there’s been plenty of drama in the name of Jackson. Considering all of this, it was nice to see the kids out, wearing smiles and celebrating their father’s legacy on his birthday, August 29. The children visited their Dad’s hometown of Gary, Indiana and stopped to sign some photographs outside of the Jackson family home. Peep the gallery to see Paris, Prince, and Blanket getting their John Hancocks on. Since the city of Gary will celebrate Michael Jackson‘s birthday and memory over the next few days, I thought it was a nice gesture that the kids joined in. But some of us have also expressed concern over the children getting into the limelight too quickly. What do you guys think of the autograph signing? Was it a good idea for Paris, Prince, and Blanket to participate, or do the Jackson‘s need to keep the children out of the public eye for a while?

spoiled little kids craving for media attention. they need to stay away for a awhile and listen to janet, specially that girl paris, otherwise they’ll end up worst than lindsay or macaulay.
Really? They were there in honor of their dead father’s birthday. Leave them alone.
Since when did honoring a person’s parent on their birthday become selfish? You don’t know their heart and their intentions. People need to realize, he was a hands-on FATHER who was actually involved in their day to day lives. I believe Paris has been very vocal about her love for her father. RIP Michael.
Put harshly but I have to say something about them being so in the public spotlight makes me uncomfortable. It’s clearly going against what their father wanted for them.
They have been brought up, for the past 3 years, in a family that is very spotlight oriented. Michael wanted to protect them, but he wasn’t going to be able to hide them forever. He knew his children had interests in going into the business. The children told Oprah way back in 2010 that Michael would bring folks out from UCLA to work with the kids on film making and things like that. Paris said Michael would do improv with her. He told Barbara Walters shortly before Paris was born that if his kids wanted to go into the business one day, he’d lay it all out for them and tell them to do it better than he did. It’s not that he didn’t wan them in the business if they wanted to be. He wanted them to be prepared and to avoid some of the problems he faced.
Beautiful kids, and I think it’s wonderful they were there to honor their dad like that. Still can’t believe he’s gone. This is the 4th birthday of his they’ve had to celebrate without him. :( RIP, Michael.
Paris is GORGEOUS.
