Minimalist fashion designer Jil Sander debuted her new collection in Milan this week and among her pricey accessories is a plain paper bag that will retail for around $290. That’s right … a plain paper bag … just like the plain paper bags we used to carry our lunches in when we were in junior high school. Because this plain paper bag is “designed” by Jil Sander, the cost for this plain paper bag is a bit higher than we are accustomed to paying for plain paper bags. Back in September of last year we got our first look at Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley in character as the late Jeff Buckley in the forthcoming biopic film Greetings from Time Buckley (which is set to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival next month). Earlier this month, we saw video of Badgley performing the song Lilac Wine as a way to show fans that he is capable of sounding like Buckley when he sings. Today we get to check out a slew of new promo photos from Greetings from Tim Buckley which further show Penn in character as Jeff. On Sunday, Jersey Shore star Nicole Snooki Polizzi brought forth the fruit of her loins and gave birth to a son she named Lorenzo Dominic. Since that time, she has been posting updates like CRAZY on her official Twitter profile … she even shared, today, her first post-baby self portrait. It should come as no surprise whatsoever that Snooki is rockin’ a leopard print robe in this new photo. Adrienne Maloof & Paul Nassif Each File For Divorce From One Another

At the end of last month we learned that Adrienne Maloof, one of the stars of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and her husband of about 10 years Paul Nassif were breaking up. It was reported that the couple were looking for ways to reconcile in the midst of their split but clearly attempts to patch things up have not been successful. Adrienne filed for divorce from Paul today and shortly thereafter, he filed his own divorce papers against her. It does not sound like this split is going to be very amicable :( More »

Earlier today we heard audio of the first human voice broadcast on planet Mars via NASA‘s Curiosity Rover. At the time, we learned that will.i.am will have the distinction as the first musician to have one of his songs broadcast on another planet in the same way, via Curiosity. At 4PM ET / 1PM PT, Curiosity will play the song embedded above Reach for the Stars (Mars Edition). Take a listen and hear the first song that will ever be broadcast on another planet by human beings. What do you think of Reach for the Stars?

Yesterday was a successful if menial day for me. Not only did I mangage to get my laundry done (yay!) but I also finally finished my lastest re-read of the classic Jack Kerouac novel On The Road. Every few years, I like to dig out that book and give it another read because it remains one of my favorite books. With the forthcoming film adaptation on the way, I figured it was the perfect time to give the book another read thru. Upon completion of the book, and because I’m in a very Beat Generation mood these days, I started reading Jack Kerouac and Allen Gingsberg: The Letters … fascinating stuff! More »

Just when you thought FX has released all of the teaser clips for the forthcoming second season of American Horror Story: Asylum, they go and drop an EIGHTH teaser video on us. This new teaser clip is the first in the series that seems to be a follow-up to one of the earlier clips. As you may recall, the seventh clip that was released last week featured what was called a Red Rave. This new clip features a White Rave. Watch the video and see the White Rave in action.

Earlier this week we learned from the tracklisting of will.i.am‘s new album Willpower that our dear Britney Spears will feature on a song titled Sexy Sexy. Today we get to see a couple of tweets from both will and Britney about their successful collaboration in the studio this week. Now, it’s unclear if will and Brit were talking about the song Sexy Sexy or a NEW song that they just recorded but both stars took to Twitter to tell the world of their collaboration on a song together this week. Yesterday we heard from Madonna herself as she explained/apologized to Australian fans for deciding NOT to tour in Oz on her current MDNA World Tour and today we are hearing from Madonna again. Maddy brings her tour to North America tonight but before she performs her first show in Pennsylvania, PA she wants to explain to fans why there is so much violence in her show. As you are painfully aware, the US has suffered greatly from gun violence this Summer alone and it sounds like Maddy is trying to get ahead of any controversy that might be generated by the violence in her show by offering this explanation ahead of time.
