Ever since Britney Spears was announced as one of the new judges on The X Factor, folks have been wondering what Christina Aguilera (judge on the rival singing competition show The Voice) has to say about her former “pop rival” getting into the competitive singing reality TV game. At last, Xtina has gone on the record to express her thoughts on Britney‘s new X Factor gig and, unsurprisingly, she only had the most gracious and complimentary things to say. They performed together on The Mickey Mouse Club, battled it out on the pop charts and now, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears will go head to head in primetime when their singing competitions, The Voice and The X Factor, both return this fall. “I came up with Britney, we were very close,” Aguilera, 31, said during a press conference in Malibu, Calif., at the home of The Voice producer Mark Burnett on Sunday evening. “Our paths have always crossed. They’ll continue to cross. I welcome her to this family of fun and entertainment and finding new talent. Britney’s a pro. She’s going to give great advice!”
One thing’s for sure, Xtina is right when she says that she and Britney will continue to cross paths … until the end of time. Like it or not, the “rivalry” between Britney and Xtina will go on and on even tho there really is no rivalry at all (well, depending on what you believe … some maintain that even tho neither one of them will talk about it, there will always be a competing rivalry between the two). There is plenty of room for both Britney and Xtina to judge these kinds of shows and, believe it or not, they can both have success (altho someone, somewhere will undoubtedly compare the two and declare a winner). I think it’s really classy of Xtina to always sing the praises of Britney when these sorts of questions come up. Britney does the same in return. Whether the ladies are involved in a fierce competition behind the scenes or not, it’s clear that they like to appear as one another’s biggest fans in public. Which is very, very nice.
But I gotta know … are you still on Team Britney or Team Xtina? WHO WILL COME OUT ON TOP?!

Britney is going to be SO GOOD!! I’m not looking forward to having to watch the show since I’m not into these singing competitions, but I’ll do it for Britney!!

Xtina was so bitchy this past season of the Voice. We’ll see how B does, but I’m sure she’ll be great.
I like both shows, but I’m currently more curious about Britney and the X-Factor. I already know how Christina does, and she is a pretty fierce judge. The problem with Christina is that I can’t tell whether she’s being playful or just flat out acting out. At times, she comes across overly strong, even with her fellow judges. But well, that’s her thing. Her voice is undeniably strong.
