Okay. So it’s a little cheesy. And there’s that holiday rom-com trailer music playing in the background. But that’s not gonna stop me from getting excited about Playing For Keeps. Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, and Catherine Zeta-Jones are starring in this story of love, loss, and… soccer? Yes. Soccer. And I’m still into it. The kids help; they’re kind of hilarious. And I’ll watch any movie about a father and son. Those are usually the best… Shouts-out to Martin Scorsese! But the director of this film is Gabriele Muccino, the guy who brought us The Pursuit Of Happyness and Seven Pounds, so I’m thinking the cheese-factor might pan out in the end.
What do you guys think? Are you down to watch Gerard Butler play soccer and make a few parental mistakes, while remaining totally cute and charming all the while? No? Just me?
