Kristen Stewart Drops Out Of Her Next Film, ‘Cali’

Oh boy. Where’s my girl Emma Clark when I need her? I’m not sure what’s going on, but it sounds like ish is getting really cray in the land of Robsten. Trent reported a while back that Robert Pattinson had allegedly moved out of the home he shared with cheating-ass faithfully-challenged girlfriend Kristen Stewart, and now we have news that Kristen‘s life is getting pretty shook up as well. The actress was set to star in Cali alongside Magic Mike‘s Alex Pettyfer, but now it’s been confirmed that Kristen has dropped out of the project and will be replaced. Deets inside.

HuffPost has the report:

Both Variety and GossipCop confirmed that Stewart has dropped out of a leading role in “Cali,” a film directed by Nick Cassavetes and written by Michael Diliberti.

Stewart was set to star in the movie about San Fernando Valley lovers Mya (Stewart) and Chris (Alex Pettyfer), who sell a fake snuff film and escape with the cash only to “return from the dead” to save the younger sister Mya left behind.

GossipCop reports that Amber Heard has been asked to join the “Cali” cast, but it remains unclear whether Heard will take over Stewart’s part.

According to the film’s IMDb profile, Stewart is also credited as an executive producer. There is no word whether she will remain a part of the film in this capacity…

Stewart has kept quite a low profile since she issued an apology to Pattinson via People magazine in July…

Meanwhile, Pattinson has been camping out at friend and “Water for Elephants” co-star Reese Witherspoon’s Ojai, Calif., vacation home. He is scheduled to appear in his first post-scandal interviewswith “The Daily Show” (Monday, Aug. 13) and “Good Morning America” (Wednesday, Aug. 15).

On Tuesday, Sanders was photographed with his model wife, Liberty Ross, outside a deli in Los Angeles. TMZ reports that Ross, who has already seen a divorce lawyer, hopes to work things out with her cheating husband.

Yikes, that’s a lotta drama, which is understandable. But writers over at Elle mentioned that this might be a bad move for Kristen career-wise; how’s it gonna look if she drops out of a film ‘over a boy’? Lol. I think Kristen‘s career will be fine. Not to get all judgy, but more people/celebrities should probably take some time off from work when major life stuff is popping off.

I’m thinking this might be a good decision on Kristen‘s part. What do you guys think?

  1. lol @ “faithfully-challenged”.
i dont know…i think its a bad move. if anything, work would probably be the best thing to keep her busy…but then maybe she doesnt feel like being around any directors right now?

    • nicole, lol at the idea of Kristen needing to abstain from contact with all movie directors! I hope it’s not like that. I’m thinking she might just be crazy embarrassed right now.

  2. “Faithfully-challenged.” I love it!

Did she really drop out or is that the word that they’re putting out? I wouldn’t be surprised if she ticked off the wrong people with her cavorting and this is some of the fallout.

I don`t think that she will come out of hiding for a while because she always seems so uncomfortable in any interviews I have seen of her she always looks like she wants to be somewhere else. I have often thought that she needs to go be a soccer mum in the suburbs and join a community theatre to use her creativity.

  4. Scandal aside, this is probably the best thing that happened to “Cali” anyway, lol I’m really curious to see her as Mary Lou in “On the Road”. Just reading her quotes about embodying the character makes me giggles. It’s all sounds so awkward now. Ha!

  5. I am still a fan of KS, despite her a cheating assery. Even though she brought this heartache and misery on herself, everyone makes mistakes. She’s paying for hers in a big way. I think if RP was seen with the likes of Emma Watson on his arm, she would be on a fast rail to hell.

  6. Be careful what you wish for, you may get it. She wanted for “life to fuck her over.” She sure as hell provided all the ingredients and stirred the pot too!
The thing I don’t get is why Liberty Ross would want to get back with Rupert Sanders’ cheating ass. Surely she can do better.

I’m a KS supporter, but I think her hiding from the limelight might be making matters worse for RP. He seems like such a private person and he’s got a career to promote too. With her hiding away from the media he’s become even more of a target than he was before, which really isn’t fair for him.

It’s a tough balance to reach. She shouldn’t have to answer to the public over a private problem, but unless she does that “first interview” I know everyone’s drooling over it’s going to be there hanging over her head…

She might want to take a page out of Hugh Grant’s playbook and do a sit-down interview, set the record straight and hopefully move on with her work.

i think she’s genuinely sorry she hurt rob, and a movie like this would make her feel more awkward and ashamed as well as rub the whole cheating thing in rob’s face again I don’t think she wants to share those kind of cinematic visuals with him.

Kristen isn’t the first celeb to have an affair with a co-star or director and she won’t be the last. I do think it’s a good idea for her to really take a minute to really think about her actions and let the heat cool off of her. I don’t blame her for wanting to lay low for awhile and since she has the means why not do it?
What I wonder is if this is out of embarrassment or because she’s depressed that she cheated, got caught, and lost someone she really loved.
