Last month we got to see the first video teaser for the forthcoming second season of Homeland on Showtime and today we get to check out a new trailer for the show. As you can see, season 2 of the show will focus on Nicholas Brody‘s run for political office (played by Damian Lewis) … despite the fact that he is secretly a turned terrorist intent on carrying out an attack on US soil. The only person who knows Brody‘s secret is CIA counterterrorist agent Carrie Mathison (played by Claire Danes) … but, as season 1 ended, she was getting possibly memory erasing shock treatments. Drama! I like this trailer a lot because not only does it give us a great understanding of the season to come but it also cleverly plays into the fact that we are in an election year. A second promo video has been released for Homeland season 2 … it’s kind of a trailer but not really. Check it out below.
This featurette was made to promote season 2 by giving us a bit of an overview of season 1. As I understand it, Showtime will release a series of these featurettes that will look back at season 1 from the perspective of different characters in order to inform new viewers (and remind veteran viewers) of the actions in season 1 that lead up to season 2. We are just about a month away from the season 2 premiere of Homeland and I am SO excited. This show is BRILLS, y’all. If you aren’t watching it … get on it. You have time to catch up and watch season 1 before season 2 premieres on Showtime next month.

It’ll be a pretty entertaining night! Love that the show is filming in Israel this season. Gonna have to watch the original series.
