Eminem Reveals That He Has Started Work On A New Album

Woot!!

Eminem called in to chat with Detroit radio station Channel 95.5 to discuss his work on the forthcoming album from his pet project Slaughterhouse and over the course of the interview, he revealed that he has started work on his next album — which is very exciting news. Now, Em didn’t go into much detail about his next album because he was really focused on discussing the Slaughterhouse album Welcome To: Our House … but he does confirm that he is in the early stages of the creation of his next album. Click below to learn more from Eminem about new music on the way.

Two years after his smash hit return-to-form Recovery, Eminem has been getting busy prepping new solo material, while helping his Shady Records group Slaughterhouse to craft a game-changing album for their August 28-slated Welcome To: Our House. Em, who recently passed 60 million Facebook ‘likes’ to top any living person, said the Slaughterhouse album is now finally complete and his fingerprints are all over it. “I kinda been really hands-on with this album for the past year,” he said in an interview with Nick Craig on his local Detroit radio station 95.5. “This has kinda been a pet project for me. I kinda been executive producing, producing, co-producing, mixing – just really hands-on with it and just really involved.” As for his much-anticipated new album, the Detroit rapper doesn’t have any plans for a release date just yet, as he’s still in the preliminary stages of putting together the project. “I actually started my album,” he revealed during his interview, adding that he hasn’t fully focused on his new solo material yet because his creative energy was so thoroughly focused on Slaughterhouse. Em also addressed the joy of working with new and younger artists. “It’s one of the things I like doing, aside from making my own music,” he said. “I always keep an ear out for what’s new and check out artists everywhere.”

Eminem has been very open about his prior substance abuse and it’s damaging effects on his creativity so it sounds like he has truly taken his recovery to heart. The man is just so incredibly talented that it would be a shame if his creativity was further stifled by drug and alcohol abuse. I’m not at all surprised that he is able to put all of himself into one project and then turn right around and being work on a different project. I can’t say I’m a huge rap fan but I can appreciate the talent and hard work that goes into crafting that genre of music. I suspect we still have some time to wait before we hear any significant news about Eminem‘s next album but now that we know he has begun work on new material, the wait will be even shorter.
