So, yesterday was prolly one of the funnest days I’ve ever had EVER here in NY. My good friend Halli suggested that we spend some time at Coney Island since I’ve never been there before and I jumped at the chance to take her up on the offer. I can’t imagine any scenario where David would ever want to visit Coney Island (actually, when we’re here, he never wants to leave Manhattan) so off Halli and I went. We had A BLAST! We ate Nathan’s Famous hot dogs, we rode all of the rides (more than once), strolled on the boardwalk, ate lots of candy, took lots of photos … it was just fun fun fun! Check out some of the photos I snapped yesterday.

I don’t even know here to begin. I guess I knew they had rides at Coney Island but I didn’t know it was a veritable amusement park. We rode as many rides as we could and they were all really fun. Many of them were surprisingly scary … including the spinning Tea Cups. Yes, we actually almost puked … IT WAS AMAZING!

Halli is a New Yorker, born and bred, so she’s been going to Coney Island all her life. It was really fun getting to share the experience with her. The weather wasn’t too hot, we never waited more than 5 minutes in any ride line … it was just the best. If you’ve never been to Coney Island, I really recommend it. There is so much history there, it’s crazy. I’m so glad I got to visit and play … it was a wonderful way to spend the day/afternoon/night :)
Tonight, Shannon and I are hanging out together. We are meeting up for dinner and then I’m taking her to see Sleep No More! I’m so excited. Stay tuned, I’ll be sure to share all the fun with all y’all tomorrow :D

Trent, I
…. *heart* your sunglasses!
@Mrs. Clarkson — Thanks! $10 from a gift shop at Coney Island :D
Remembering your older posts about Sleep No More…I thought this show was only going to be playing for a limited number of months and then close. Has it stayed open much longer than anticipated due to the huge demand to see it?
@Chris — Yes, I understand the show has a long term lease on the building and they’ve been extending the run as demand continues to be strong. If you can see this show, you must. MUST see this show.
That’s great! I live in Brooklyn my whole life so I’m always at Coney Island. Glad to read you had a great time. :)
Please don’t truncate your posts in my reader! It’s easier to read Pink when it looks like I’m on Google at work!
The Cyclone!!! See you in a few… ;)

Trent — Those spinning teacups appeared in a scene in Uptown Girls — the Brittany Murphy & Dakota Fanning flick. Glad you got a chance to ride them!
Those are the teacups of death!
Glad you had fun! We just finished a film about the Coney Island rezoning. Good historical context. http://www.zipperfilm.com -check it out if you have time
