Oh boy. Remember a few months back when Courtney Love‘s own daughter (Francis Bean Cobain) suggested that twitter ban her mother from further use of the site? Well, they didn’t take her advice and Mama Courtney didn’t take the hint. But at least this time she’s not spreading vicious rumors about Dave Grohl hitting on her daughter. And, in fact, you could argue that these are helpful tweets; tweets that offer lyrical clarification from one musician to another. But then again, it’s Courtney Love… tweeting in reaction to Lana Del Rey‘s cover of Nirvana‘s Heart-Shaped Box. So yeah. She probably wasn’t trying to be all that helpful. So there you have it from the mouth/vegina (I spell it with an ‘e’ now, because of this girl)/twitter mind of Courtney Love Cobain. Many of Lana‘s fans came to her defense but I think we all know by now that Courtney is all about shock value… among other things, for sure. It’s great that Heart-Shaped Box is about her vegina (and it makes lots of sense), but I don’t see what that has to do with… well… anything!
More importantly, what did you guys think about LDR‘s cover? I wasn’t a die-hard Nirvana fan, but oh my gosh my good friends in high school were, so I definitely listened and eventually became a fan. Still, I’d like to hear what some of the early fans think about her performance. Based on the footage, it seems kind of impromptu so it’s difficult to be really critical, but I love me some Lana Del Rey and I thought she did fine.

To this day I remain a huge Nirvana song and I dislike this cover. Not just because, for me, some Nirvana songs are off-limits, but because Lana Del Rey irks the living crap out of me. Team CrazyCourtney on this one.

I don’t like it. For similar reasons as Bleeding Ears has. I always dread hearing someone’s cover of a Nirvana song, though, because Nirvana’s music is so special/sacred to me.
Honestly, this girl doesn’t sound bad. It just annoys me. However, if I think about Tori Amos doing a Nirvana song, it doesn’t bother me. Hmm..

Ugh I’m sorry but that was HORRIBLE. lol @ bleedingEars because I think my ears are bleeding from having listened to that. WOW, just… WOW. She keeps falling off key and she’s just slurring her words. Maybe she should stick to ruining her own songs.
