‘Pop-Up’ At The Beach

Even tho I live mere miles away from the Pacific Ocean, I don’t get out to the beach as much as you’d think. It’s a travesty, I know. But, I did make my first visit to the beach yesterday to support David and Pop-Up Pantry at a charity event to benefit the Fulfillment Fund. Pop-Up Pantry and other food companies, like Wolfgang Puck, were on hand to serve food at the event that raised money to help FulFillment Fund’s student mentoring program. The weather was divine, the food was delish and I had a blast!

This was the first Pop-Up Pantry event that I attended so it was neat to see David and his crew in action. Everyone loved their food, naturally, and a year subscription for Pop-Up Pantry was sold to the highest bidder during the silent auction. Needless to say, I get to eat for free … and boy, did I eat :)

The event was held at a private space on the beach, the perfect Summer setting:

As I said, I don’t get to the beach as much as I should but I love that the opportunity is always there. Just look at this paradise. Amazing.

Today, I have to run some miles and then tonight I’m gonna see Fiona Apple at the Hollywood Palladium. Not to shabby for a Sunday, eh? Happy Weekend!

Haha, I hardly went to the beach when I lived out there either. The first day I got there I did and I remember getting a stinging rash so bad on my legs that I was done. Then again, I’ve never really been a beach person.

Sounds like you had a fun day! I know how you feel. I live by the beach too and I don’t get to enjoy as much as I’d like..
