Because we have ALL heard the the song Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen about a million times too many, we should just about now have finally gotten the song out of our heads … which is why Carly is ready to get a new song stuck in our heads. This time around Jepsen has teamed up with Owl City for a song titled Good Time and, as you might imagine, it’s a damn catchy song. It remains to be seen if Good Time will be as massive a hit as Call Me Maybe turned out to be but something tells me CRJ is going to do everything she can to make Good Time the new Call Me Maybe. See, I told you … it’s a catchy song. Now, I don’t think we are going to see countless lip-dub videos of Good Time like we’ve gotten for Call Me Maybe but something tells me that this new single will be a fairly big hit for Jepsen and Owl City. Does anyone feel like Carly consistently looks like she’s 19 years old? Something about the straight bangs that just makes her look like a teenager to me. I don’t know if she just has a young face, or her label’s trying to groom her to look younger.

I’m glad that Owl City has a new fairly big hit. Even though he’s been plugging away at new music ever since “Fireflies” became a #1 hit three years ago, he’s never been able to match that success. I feel that if Carly Rae Jepsen didn’t duet with him on this song he would have faded into the realm of one hit wonderland and we’d only hear about him on VH1 one hit wonder specials or something like that.
In terms of Carly Rae Jepsen’s contribution to the song, I’m just glad she DIDN’T become a one hit wonder. I saw her interviewed a few weeks ago on Nightline about this very topic and she said she is 26 which is kinda old in this day and age of pop music to be a one hit wonder. She would then have to figure out some other way to make money and the older a person is when they change careers the harder it is for them to land a job. I mean she’s kinda old for a new artist in the music field, but she still has time to come into her own in a new field if this doesn’t work out (remember she is a former Canadian Idol contestant and we all know that many singing competition contestants don’t have very long careers in the music industry).
She has had some nude photos of herself leaked. It was on our local news as she’s just from the town over. I don’t care, I love her music!!
