He Is Risen

Whew, I have had a very long night. I was among the throngs of people who attended midnight screenings of The Dark Knight Rises last night/this morning and I am currently operating on just a couple hours of sleep. I’ll post my review of the film a little later on as I still need some time to process the film. I will say right now that I really enjoyed The Dark Knight Rises and I think many of you will enjoy it as well. Obviously, many of us — me included — are affected by the tragedy that took place in Colorado last night/this morning but I urge you to do your best and enjoy your weekend plans as much as possible.

I am happy to share that I had a really fun time at the movies last night. Yes, the theater was packed with lots of Batman fans — some who were in costume — and as annoying as big crowds like that can be, I found last night’s experience to be a truly fun one. The ArcLight theater in Hollywood has on display all of the Batman posters of all of the Batman films. As a big Batman fan, I really appreciated the homage that was paid to the earlier Batman films. I truly hope that you all can experience the same fun this weekend and in the coming days and weeks. We cannot let the actions of one deranged person affect how we live our lives. Go to the movies with your family and friends, enjoy their company and have fun! Live your lives, people.

I’m a bit wiped out but before I can get some sleep, I need to go in for round 2 of physical therapy on my leg so I still have some running around to do. I truly hope you all have an amazing Friday and a wonderful weekend.

Trent thank you for encouraging people to enjoy their weekends. I think it will be a shame for people to skip out on going to the movie due to this act of violence. If we live in fear than cowards like the shooter wins and their legacy will live on. I have always been anxious and fearful in movie theaters because I’ve noticed how easy it would be for someone to pull off an attack such as this. People are unarmed and not paying attention to their surroundings. However I will overcome my anxiety and head out to see the movie with my husband who has been looking forward to it for some time. Praying for peace for the victims and their families during this difficult time.

I hope you heal up soon, Trent.

I was going to wait until next weekend to see this movie…but I kind of feel like going this weekend is my only way of giving the monster a giant “F-YOU!”.

It is like the end of Labrynth…”you have no power over me”. If people stay away because of him, then he wins.
