After I got a clean bill of health from my new doctor on Monday, I was sent to a physical therapy center to begin treatment for my knee pain. I honestly had no idea what to expect but I was anxious to get started so that I can say goodbye to my knee pain. What I encountered yesterday was an experience that I found totally reassuring and extremely helpful. A team of physical therapists got me started on a plan to stretch and strengthen my legs so that my knee pain will go away completely.
I was shown some exercises to help strengthen my legs and then was treated with an ultrasound technique that uses sound waves to massage the inside of my leg. After the ultrasound treatment, I was then hooked up to electrodes that stimulated my muscles with currents that made my legs twitch for 15 minutes. It wasn’t painful … but it was weird. Apparently, the stimulation helps aid in healing. THEN, I got a leg massage that just … ruled. I think I’m going to like physical therapy a lot :)
Tonight, I’ll be making my way to the movie theater to see The Dark Knight Rises at midnight. It’s been ages since I’ve seen a midnight movie so I figured tonight’s showing of Batman would be a good reason to go. I’m sure some of y’all will be joining me at the movies tonight ;) Happy Thursday!
