Watch: Melanie Lynskey Gets Her Cougar On In The ‘Hello I Must Be Going’ Trailer

Here's To You Mrs. Robinson

Melanie Lynskey is a huge talent who I’ve always wanted to see blow up. I first saw her when I was, like 13, in Drew Barrymore‘s Cinderella story (Ever After) and I’ve never forgotten her face. Since then she’s done a ton of indie movies including Win Win and the upcoming The Perks Of Being A Wallflower; now she’s a divorcée falling in lurve with a 19-year old (story of my life) in Hello I Must Be Going. Super cute trailer inside.

Hello I Must Be Going: First Trailer

I’m still cracking up over that last part! In case you needed to be reminded of why dating a 19-year old is never okay (post 25-years old): “Somebody’s Mom’s here!” is the war cry you never want to experience. LMAO. Awesome :)

Hello I Must Be Going was a big hit at the Sundance Film Festival and I can see why. It’s got all the quips and quirks that make indie rom-coms what they are: friggen awesome. Melanie Lynskey also had her first movie role in Heavenly Creatures, along with Kate Winslet. The two stars broke out after that (although one more than the other, clearly) but Lynskey was amazing in this very creepy true story. In fact– much as I love Winslet– I thought Lynskey (who played the lead) delivered a stronger performance. I can’t wait to see her getting down and dirty with Chris Abbot, the teen love interest in Hello

P.S. Melanie was also in But I’m A Cheerleader! Why aren’t we watching that right now?!

Shannon, have you ever seen Detroit Rock City (which is my fave movie)? Melanie played Beth who was a very sweet character.

Ummm, we all seem to be forgetting that she also played crazy Rose on Two and a Half Men since 2003! She was fantastic as Charlie’s insane neighbor/stalker/wife. :-)
