Marina And The Diamonds Rock Hollywood

The TV Guide

Yesterday was a very eventful day for me. I spent the early part of the day taking care of my body and the latter part of the day taking care of my soul. Because I appear to be having an issue with my knee, I went in for an evaluation with a doctor to make sure everything is OK (it is). Last night, I met up with Ollie, Darion and his friend Jessica at the Henry Fonda Theatre to see Marina and the Diamonds in concert. All in all, it was a pretty decent day.

Because I’m a big baby, I started to get anxious about my doctor’s appointment. I had no idea what kind of evaluation I would get so I started to freak out about needles while I was in the waiting room filling out my paperwork. I am happy to report that there were no needles involved AT ALL in my evaluation. The good news is that there doesn’t seem to be any injury to my knee. The pain I’ve been experiencing is just soreness. That said, I did learn that I have to strengthen and stretch out my leg muscles to make the pain go away on long runs. Because David is a very thorough partner, he is insisting I go in for a second opinion so I’m heading to his Orthopedic doctor on Monday for a follow-up evaluation. I’m glad that I’m not injured but I’m still concerned about future pain in my knee.

The Marina and the Diamonds concert was really fun last night, particularly because it is impossible for Ollie and me to NOT have a good time together. I managed to snap some fun photos from the show last night, check ‘em out:

I think Marina‘s performance style has improved since she made her US concert debut last year but unfortunately, the sound mixing of her show was really crappy last night. The performance could’ve sounded so much better so, yeah, that was a bummer. Still, we all had a great time together:

I’m glad we got to see the show together, it really made for a very fun evening.

I was told my car would be ready for pick up yesterday but, of course, it wasn’t. I already received a call today letting me know that my car is finally repaired and ready to come home. So, I’ll be picking up my sweet baby from the body shop. Because it’s been a couple of days since my last run, I’ll be hitting the streets today. I’m going to relax on my long runs for a while, so my my knee can heal up. I plan on doing short runs for the rest of the week to loosen up my legs but not put too much strain on them.

It’s my birthday eve and, surprise surprise, I’m not really looking forward to tomorrow. I’m glad I’ll have my car back and I’ll be able to run again. Hopefully those two things will help get me in a fun birthday mood.
