Sixteen years ago Chloë Sevigny was the face of Miu Miu, the eclectic, avant-garde collection from the Prada fashion house. And now that she’s 37– and still looking a lot like she did at 21– Miu Miu‘s got her back. And we think she’s in pretty good company, seeing as how Mia Wasikowska joined their Fall 2012 campaign back in January. Check out photos of the two actresses as the two new faces of Miu Miu.

She literally looks about 3 years older in that 2012 pic, lol. Gotta love it. Now Chloë‘s one of those actresses who people tend to be in love with– as long as they know who she is. But a lot of the time people don’t get the appeal from the fashion world. And since I don’t always completely get fashion myself, I’ll let Marc Jacobs speak on Chloë: “The fashion world is fascinated by her. Because not only is she talented, young and attractive, she stands out in a sea of often clichéd looking actresses.”
Why, thank you Marc Jacobs circa 2001! Chloë has also pointed to the Australian film Picnic at Hanging Rock as one of her favorite films, and one of her fashion inspirations. I’ve seen the film, and I get it. The girls have a look that is very Victorian, but also sort of indie-bohemian in presentation. I say that with all of the fashion authority I can muster.
Here are Mia Wasikowska‘s Miu Miu ads:

I love the way Mia‘s ads practically pop off the page and I cannot wait to see Chloë in some more Miu Miu photos! Those accessories that they used on Mia are kind of amazing too– I’m loving the detail and repetition of that print on the necklace, watch, and earrings. Team Chloë also has the film Lovelace to look forward to; Chloë will play the part of Rebecca, a feminist journalist of the time.

I love Chloe. I’ve been following her since I first saw her in The Last Days of Disco many years ago. To me she is THE fashion icon (along with SJP) and I live vicariously through her fashion style. lol
Debho, Chloe’s been my top special for some time too. Glad to have another fan on board!
WOW! I cannot say I have much interest in fashion really but this set of shots blows me away. There is so much here that I love. The jewelry, the color combinations, and the placement of the hemlines all stand out to me as being very modern yet neo-Victorian and gorgeous. I want to step into these women’s lives because I think that clothing would MAKE me interesting!
Kate, the fact that you noticed the placement of the hemlines makes you VERY interesting to me! Glad you enjoyed the photos :)
