Christina Aguilera Will Reportedly Release A New Single In August

A new report out by Billboard magazine claims that Christina Aguilera is readying the release of a new song, produced by Max Martin, next month. Apparently, the new track is described as a “club banger” and is meant to be a preview of Xtina’s forthcoming as-yet-untitled/announced new album. You may know that Martin is the songwriter/producer responsible for many of Britney Spears’s biggest hit songs (including Baby, One More Time, (You Drive Me) Crazy, Stronger and more). It would seem that Xtina is lookin’ to secure some of that music magic for herself, too. HMMM.

It’s been two years and two seasons of “The Voice” since Christina Aguilera’s last studio album, but new music from the veteran pop star may be arriving before summer’s end. A source tells Billboard that Aguilera is working hard on the follow-up to 2010’s “Bionic,” and that a new single is expected to be released in early August. The club banger was produced by Swedish pop hit-maker Max Martin, and its chorus is built around the line, “All I want to do is what you wanted.” Martin — best known for producing hits by Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry, among others — has yet to helm a single for Aguilera. Meanwhile, duets with Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green, Aguilera’s fellow coaches on NBC’s “The Voice,” are apparently in the works for the singer’s forthcoming album as well.

I have to confess, I am very excited by the prospect of a Xtina/Max Martin single. The man is a bona fide hitmaker, if anyone can FINALLY give Xtina a hit single, it’s Max Martin. I’m entirely bored and totally uninterested in any duets with anyone involved with The Voice but, I guess, Xtina is going to be Xtina and unintentionally torpedo her own career. I can’t say I’m a big Xtina fan at all but she does have a few amazing songs here and there. I hope this Max Martin track will be one of those hits … lord knows, the girl could use a hit.

I like some of her songs, but honestly, I’m not really that much of a fan. I’m looking forward to the Max Martin produced single though.
One thing that really bothers me is how forced she sounds when she sings a song. It’s like she’s forcing herself to make that kind of a thick, Whitney Houston-ish voice, and it just doesn’t sound natural to me. She has a good voice, but somewhat it sounds like she’s faking her own voice.
Every time she starts screaming in a song I just roll my eyes and go “bitch… just stop trying too hard”.

LOL agreed – She has a phenomenal voice, but she over uses it far too often, and doesn’t ever seem to understand that “less is more”. That being said, she sounded beyond amazing in Burlesque (the movie itself on the other hand… not so much), and she blew me away in both her “Stripped” and “Back to Basics” tours… I’m cautiously looking forward to her collab with Max Martin, not sure if a “club-banger” is the right fit for her though. “Not Myself Tonight” was meant to be a “club banger” and look how abysmally that turned out… IMHO she’s at her best with soulful Ballads (Beautiful, The Voice Within) traditional Pop (Come On Over), and Pop/Jazz (Aint No Other Man, Candyman)… We’ll see…

@ Will I think we just arent used to real singing. all these other bitches do is talk because they have zero vocal ability. Katy perry “screams” Christina sings. Theres a difference. Everyone wants to be famous and “singers” so the bar has been lowered to make the dream more tangible. Now we have people actually saying folks lioke Chaka khan, Celine, Patti, pre crazy Mariah, and Christina cant sing or my favorite “over-sing” when the reality these others “under-sing” because they can’t.

    • Will

Thanx for the response, but I have to disagree.
I think people like Celine, Mariah,Whitney, Adele and even Amy Winehouse are/were amazing singers. But the thing about them is that it seems like they’re not even trying to sound good when they sing. They just have that natural beautiful voice, and it sounds like they don’t need to make any effort to sound good.
Xtina on the other hand, always sounds like she tries way too hard to sound good; like she’s trying to create a voice that’s not really hers.
Don’t get me wrong. I do think she’s very talented, but I just wished she could sing in a more relaxed manner, without trying to always sound like “The best singer in the world”.

Im the same Trent, I like a couple of her catchier songs, overall though I would never call myself a fan. Il give the song a listen.

  • miss x

has the shit between her and Adam Levine blown over? the feud thing over some song on The Voice?

  • Xadax

@Trent the feeling is mutual with Britney Spears. Not a fan if hers but I like a few of her songs.

    • @Xadax — NO COMMENT ;P

Max Martin is not known for working with people who can sing… This was not her choice. I’m sure her label is forcing this to try and make money. Anywho, I hope its not one of those gaga/guetta/crappy euro dance ditties that plague the radio right now.

@ Will I disagree. She has ALWAYS sang the way she sings, even as a tiny girl, google her MMC stuff. She was not old enough to know to “try too hard” and I’m not sure how anyone can dictate or tell when or how hard another person is “trying” She is the definition of a versatile artist. She seems to be able to sing whatever way the track dictates. If you are truly familiar with her work you will recall songs like “Save me from my self” on B2B and “I am” where she just brushes over the music and sounds phenomenal. When I think of someone who sings a way their voice does not really go, I think John Mayer. Thats probably why his throat is all effed up now…Christina’s voice is still as good as it was day one as opposed to Adele and Mariah. There is a reason why Adeles vocal chords were jacked, she sings hard, far from effortless but she can sing. As far as Mariah goes, I have not heard a solid “Vision of love” since before she got “exhausted” People who “try too hard” and don’t sing along the lines in which their voices naturally fall, loose their voices or severly damage them. Listen to Bionic. Her vocals are crisp.

I am very excited for this new Album. I can disagree with some of you. I know Christina can sing, she is one of my favorite vocalist because not only can she sing but she is very passionate about what she does for a living. Staying a strong person can be very hard for someone who is criticized a lot for just being herself and for living her life the way she does. For those in general who say she can sing, I dare you to try to hit those notes like she can. I dare you to belt like she can. I dare you to put all that effort into something you create for your fans.
    Long live Xtina!
