Anderson Cooper Thanks His Twitter Followers For Their Support

Appreciation

Yesterday, CNN reporter and talk show host Anderson Cooper came out publicly as a gay man. In the wake of the outpouring of support that he received on Twitter, Anderson posted a short but sweet tweet in appreciation of all of the messages he received. It should come as no surprise that Cooper is off on assignment this week so he’s a bit bizzy to be tweeting up a storm but he did take the time to share a quick message with fans, which you can read in full below.

I’m assuming that Anderson intended for his response to be as no frills as possible because he likely believes that his coming out shouldn’t be headline news. I mean, it is headline news but it seems to me that he doesn’t want to make a big deal about it. In any event, Anderson is hard at work — as usual — and he has more important things to do than focus on discussion about his sexuality. He came out, let’s move on :)

Trent, i appreciate your interpretation of Anderson’s tweet, and couldn’t agree more. AC’s sexuality is part of his personal, not professional life. Noting it and “moving on” as you said, is exactly what we should do.

I applaud his decision and will celebrate with everyone –

However for us straight heterosexual females this is another nail in the coffin :( – sigh – inam happy for him really ) my last hope for a blue eyed steel grey haired gentleman of distinction with above average intelligence is Morrissey.
