Rihanna’s Grandmother Passes Away

Clara Brathwaite, grandmother to Rihanna, has lost her battle with cancer according to Contact Music. Rihanna recently took to twitter to express her sadness and love. We have some of the beautiful pictures she shared inside.

In a recent post, I talked about Rihanna’s twitter– in all its strangeness– but I mentioned that my favorite twit pics of hers are the ones with family. There is a real love and affection there, especially with her grandmother and I hope Rihanna and her family find some peace in this difficult time.

In Memory Of Grandma Clara, Rihanna’s Gran Gran Dolly

Aw, that’s sad. It’s very hard to lose a beloved grandparent.

I just lost my Grandma to pancreatic cancer on June 8th and she and I were very close. It’s so hard but there is peace in knowing that she doesn’t have to suffer anymore. My heart goes out to Rihanna and her family.

this isn’t News yeah it’s sad any death is but at least her grandmother is no longer suffering. Kurt Southerlund felt the same way nearly 4 years ago when his beloved father in law passed after a long battle with lung cancer but he didn’t have social networking sites to bather on about it. though when the local connetcuit news asked his thoughts he had nothing but sweet things to say about Mr Newman. then there’s a picture from about 18 months later at a charity screening of Paul’s Movie Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid that bennefited the Hole In The Wall Gang Camps of Kurt & Claire with her mom Joanne all three look happy that the screening went well but you can tell Claire was slightly uncomfortable because of memories of the first screening of that film she ever attended aged 4 1/2 in September of 1969. right when Butch & Sundance get shot off screen at the end she turned around crying to find her father had walked out of the theater before the press came in and she being that young thought he was dead

@Courtney.. Honestly, that was the longest tirade ever. With any death comes grieving. People choose different outlets to express how they feel about losing a loved one. I’m not exactly a fan of Rihanna (but damn her songs are catchy), but I definitely respect her. Let her grieve the way she wants.
