Since March, we’ve been wondering whether or not actress Reese Witherspoon is actually pregnant with her third child (her first with new hubby Jim Toth) or not. In April, it appeared that Reese took her baby bump to the beach. In May, it looked like Reese took her baby bump to the tennis court for a spirited game of tennis. Later in May, it seemed pretty evident that Reese took her baby bump to the Cannes International Film Festival. But, despite all these bump sightings, Reese had yet to officially confirm her pregsness … ’til now. Over the weekend, Reese was honored at an award ceremony in Chicago, IL and on the red carpet she FINALLY addressed and confirmed that yes, she is pregnant with her third child. So now we know, for sure, that she is knocked up.
Reese Witherspoon has got the glow — and the belly to boot! On hand as the recipient of the Gene Siskel Film Center‘s Renaissance Award in Chicago on Saturday, the expectant actress — who dressed her bump up in a navy shift — graciously accepted her fair share of compliments, but admitted looks can be deceiving. “Thanks, but frankly I’m feeling very round tonight,” Witherspoon, 36, told reporters. But despite her curvy figure, the mom-to-be reveals she is still trying her best to steer clear of certain foods — including Chicago’s world-famous pizza! “It’s not easy,” she says. “I’m always feeling like I’d like to eat everything in sight!” Before the fall arrival of her first child with husband Jim Toth — the newlyweds are keeping quiet on baby’s sex and possible name choices — Witherspoon has been busy wrapping up her latest film in Atlanta. Costarring actor Colin Firth, Devil’s Knot centers around a 1993 crime. “It happens in Arkansas, and it’s what I’d say is a very American story,” she shares, before adding, “And, after I finish that, I’m going to take a little time off — and go have a baby.”
Yay!! I know this confirmation isn’t really news news but for completion’s sake, it’s nice to have her official confirmation on the record. For most of this interview, Reese stayed away from mentioning the words “pregnant” and “baby” … she waited to the very end to utter the B word :) As I’ve maintained all along, I couldn’t be happier for Reese and Jim and their growing family. Let the Bump Watch continue … and let commence the speculation — will it be a girl or a boy? What do you think?
