In 2013 James Franco, Jennifer Hudson, The Backstreet Boys, and Helen Mirren are just a few celebs who will receive their bright and shining star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. This is truly an exciting time for everyone involved and we think the honor is well-deserved by these talented recipients. In fact, it’s kinda hard to believe that many of them don’t already have stars! But, they’ve got ‘em now. Click inside to see who else is getting a star.
On Friday the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce made the much-anticipated announcement and 24 new inductees will receive the star, a permanent public monument to their achievement in the entertainment industry. Although, I did find out that those celebs who accept the star must also pay $30,000 in cost and fees. Fun fact, right? I’m sure they’ll all find the money somewhere, lol.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a huge tourist attraction. I’ve only been there once, but I was totally ‘star-struck.’ I’m so happy for Viola Davis and I’m so confused as to how Janis Joplin, NKOTB, Usher, and Ron Howard are just now getting stars! Nuts! Still, I can’t way to get back to LA (when I go visit Trent and David… probably unannounced, lol) so I can check out the new stars.
Any stars you’re especially happy to see getting some shine? I think this is a pretty cool tradition and the history of the Walk is kinda interesting… you know, if you’re a bit of a nerd :)

Shannon, I was shocked too. But I’m guessing that every year they choose to induct a certain number of people, and lots have to get left behind. Still, you’re right. These ones are pretty huge! Glad to see it finally going down, though.

How come “Friends” never got a star? Or Freddie Mercury? Or Bon Jovi? Also, I think “Glee” should get a star soon.
