Lily Allen Tweets That She Is Back In The Studio!

HYFR Of The Day

Lily Allen is the Lord of all creation and news of her return to the studio makes me a very happy blogger. Back in November, Lily and her husband Sam Cooper welcomed  ’mini-cooper’ Ethel Mary into their world. And even before their daughter was born, Lily had announced a retirement of sorts from music in 2010. Well, the ‘retirement’ is ov-ah! Celebrate Lily’s return with me inside.

After Lily tweeted her support of “Kate Nash’s new jam” (which, I assume is a reference to Under-Estimate The Girl), @PopJustice tweeted this cheeky little response:

To which our potty-mouth Lily replied:

Kurstin and Lily worked together on the glorious 2009 album, It’s Not Me, It’s You so I think we can expect more terrific music from them. Kind of like the music below.

Ahhhh, thank you Lily Allen for Friday morning happy.

Can’t wait to hear her new sound – no doubt it would have changed dramatically. I always admired her being herself – I find that most of these UK acts have stayed much more ‘them’ – I would say grounded, but we all have different meanings on that. It might that the labels are actually more focused on talent than the manufactured image – sure they would encourage certain looks, but I believe they do a good job finding proper talent (minus the singing shows – although Rebecca Ferguson is an exception).

All the pop singers or female acts from the US come across as too fake and forcing a personality upon everyone compared to the Brits. Whilst I dislike mentioning him here, I did feel for Lily when that annoying blogger gave her crap every second post, to me, she was just being herself. I will though disagree with her opposing views on file sharing/copyright etc…

    • JCZ, great thoughts here and thanks for commenting. I’ve always wondered about the difference between our singers here and pop stars there. There’s absolutely a difference and I think it’s cultural and relative to our music industries and the way they operate.

She looks like Mandy Moore in that pic.

  4. Janaegal, only good can come of this news, lol.

  5. I’m glad she is coming back to music. I remember listening to Smile in college. Brings back great memories! Can’t wait to hear her new stuff!

This is excellent news, I don’t care what anyone says about Lily Allen…her music is so good. It’s Not Me, It’s You is one of my all time favourite albums.
