Icelandic band Sigur Rós has unveiled a music video for their song Fjögur píanó and as you can see below, it features a guest appearance by actor Shia LaBeouf. Like many Sigur Rós videos, this latest offering is, well, weird but extremely artistic and visual. In the clip, Shia and his female costar provide visual elements of the video in varying degrees of undress. Yes, they both get fully nude … which is why everyone seems to be talking about the music video’s release (and LaBeouf‘s peen). Click below to take a look and see what you think. Be warned, the clip is NSFW.
This music video was directed by Alma Har’el and is taken from the Valtari Mystery Film Experiment (which, as far as I can tell, is a promo film that was released in conjuction with the new Sigur Rós album Valtari). So, without further ado … here is the video for Fjögur píanó in full. You can see Shia in all his nekkid glory at :42 and :48
As you may recall, Shia previously collaborated with Marilyn Manson by directing the music video for Born Villain last year. Clearly, Shia is a big music video fan. If he’s not directing them, he’s starring in them … even then the role demands full frontal nudity. I have to say, I’m impressed with Shia‘s bravery here. It can’t be easy to just put yourself out there — all of you — in such an open and public way. I dare say he decided to drop trou for artistic reasons (because, surely, he won’t be benefitting financially from this music video appearance). While I enjoy much of Sigur Rós‘s music, I can’t say that I love it all. I’m not particularly taken with this song but, honestly, I doubt anyone will be paying much attention to this music video because of the music. What do you think of Shia‘s appearance in this clip? Are you impressed? Does this video make you more or less of a Sigur Rós fan?
